Dear Diary,
My day started like any other. Getting up at seven o'clock in the morning, me having to switch off the three clocks I used to actually get myself out of bed; one on each night table, so therefore I had two right there and the last one all the way over on top of my desk. I would have to get out of the cushiony softness of my blankets and sheets to shut that one off. I would constantly try and avoid doing it, attempting to block out the noise through a meditative trance, knowing that Sevria Arkenae, my master, wouldn't shut it off for me.
I've had Sevria as my master for nearly one year now. It will be one year when I turn seventeen on May twenty-sixth. When I came from the future, she gladly took me as her padawan learner. Even though it has been nearly one year after my arrival, Sevria and I know each other quite well. Through many happenings, we manage to think as one. We come up with the same ideas, speeches, etc, etc. It's odd but can be pretty entertaining. It truly all depends on the situation.
I moved into my and Sevria's chambers to learn and study more without the interference of anyone. Here, it's calm and quiet. Back at home with my Mother, Annika Nesicha and sister, Lys Khyaji Kenobi, it can become pretty noisy. My father, Obi-Wan Kenobi, was one of the main people who thought that it was a good idea. I don't live far from them, so I can go visit whenever I want.
Anyways, I got out of bed eventually, shoving my guardian and pet cat, Shiva, out of the way. She stared up at me with a frown, but then nestled her head back down on her paws, yawned loudly, and went back to sleep. The eerie thing about Shiva's arrival is that she came out of nowhere. This was, of course, nearly two months back. She appeared to me in a dream, a rather abnormal one at that.
Shiva was calling my name quietly, something I couldn't make out at all. She came closer to me, out of the darkness, and what she said became clear. She was telling me something about this large darkness was going to consume me one day. It puzzled me, and I awoke with a start. Shiva sort of "emerged," I guess, from my dreams, and she sat right in front of me when I awakened. I managed to catch her as her angel-like wings disappear into her skin, and she just stared at me.
I couldn't exactly tell you for how long we both sat in the calm and still night, but she said a simple hello. I managed to ask her what the hell my dream was about, but all she said was that she didn't know what that "darkness" was, but she was sent to guide and protect me throughout my adventures. I left it at that, having a clue that Shiva was like a guardian angel sent from the heavens. Like I said before, that was two months back. Ever since she came, she went everywhere with me, except to school and all that. I guess I'll find out in due course what that "darkness" is. For now, who knows? The fact that the word "darkness" is in there - it doesn't sound good, so I must be cautious. Fat chance. Me and cautious, we go together, but usually I just jump in. It's the thrill of it all that I love. Sevria knows that I'm a risk-taker, and believe me, she assures me that she will fix that.
I found out just recently through Shiva that Milliam Sheroma sent her, my former master. Milliam had done this type of ritual with a priestess and sent her spirit to me in the form of one of my favorite animals, the cat. Shiva still acts like your normal, everyday cat, but has a human mind in a way. She's smart. I think it's rather remarkable and cool.
Now, back on the topic of school. School... fun. Yeah right. I studied at the academy in the Jedi Temple with all the other Jedi Padawans. This is my second-to-last year. Then I spend the majority of my time going on missions. I already have, many outings actually - but now, after I'm finished with school, that's all I'll be doing - and training with my master of course. Putting on my Jedi garb or uniform, as other people call it, I wondered about the idea about me one day being a Jedi Knight. That would be awesome. My hair was damp still as I ran a hand through it. I guess I had to blowdry my hair afterwards. I should have taken a shower last night, not this morning. When I walked out my room, Sevria was sitting by the kitchen table, drinking coffee. She had prepared breakfast for me - eggs, toast, and bacon. Yum!
"Thank you, Master," I said with a smile, sitting down and placing my book on the table beside me. I began eating immediately so I still had time to do my hair and make-up and stuff.
"Did you have a good sleep, Padawan?" Sevria asked me, looking up from the book she was reading.
I stared at the title. It was called Remembered. I guessed by the title that it was some type of love story. I usually hate Sevria because she can hide her emotions and not be sad when she reads something dreary in a love novel. That's another one of my problems; I can't do that. I find it impossible. I heard from Obi-Wan that Ani has the same problem. His real name is Anakin Skywalker, but everyone calls him Ani because it's shorter. Sevria is able to hide anything, but she's the coolest. She is one of the only Jedi I know who reads love novels and don't let the stories take over their brains.
"Yes I did, thank you. Did you?" I asked, placing a piece of bacon in my mouth. It tasted good.
Sevria was also a splendid cook. Boy, did she ever know how to cook. Obi-Wan was better, but she stood a very close second. She's also very pretty. She has long blue hair. She's human, but she was essentially born with blue-colored hair. She has green eyes and a beautiful smile. She's one of my idols, along with my mother and father.
She nodded. "After you're done with school, I want you to meet me in the gardens to begin meditation. We're going to work on your telekinesis." I didn't say anything but just ate silently. I chewed on a piece of egg and pondered about my lessons. I was becoming quite skilled in telekinesis and other skills. My Katas were coming along well, and I was improving greatly with using my lightsaber.
My first period class was Saber Training class. It was in the main gym downstairs. I had that class with Calandra Jinn, my best friend, and my friend Anakin Skywalker. Calandra is nineteen years old, and Anakin is a mere fourteen years of age, going on fifteen. I know that the age level varies between all three of us, but we're sort of in advanced stages of lightsaber training. We're all gifted. There are also some Sailor Senshi in this class. Anakin is the most gifted out of all the Jedi Padawan in this temple. He is the Chosen One, after all.
After Saber Training class, I had Quantum Physics. I hate that class with a passion; all the formulas, damn. I was never too good with formulas, or math, for that matter. Universal Geography came after lunch, and then the most boring class of all, the History of the Jedi Code. BORING! The only good thing about it is that it's easy.
I finished eating and headed out the door. I said goodbye to Sevria and headed toward the gym. If I had to pick my favorite class, this would be the one. It gives you a chance to exercise your strength and open your mind to see into others, to see their next move. It's fun and enjoyable. I opened the gymnasium door and walked inside. There were already Padawans setting up mats on the floor. I placed my books by the wall beside Calandra's books, which I easily recognized because the sides of the binders were colored light blue, light green and golden yellow. The actual covers of them were smoky-colored and transparent. Some were decorated with stickers and drawings. I smiled happily at Calandra's child self. Even at Calandra's age, she was still a child.
I scanned the gymnasium for her and finally spotted her talking to Anakin. I calmly walked up to the two of them and smiled when they both turned to look at me.
"Morning!" I called with a wave.
"Morning, Lysa!" Calandra shouted back. "You are so going down today."
I laughed loudly. "Yeah right. I would love to see you try," I teased.
"Anakin's going to team up with me, right, Ani?" Calandra asked with a smile. Yet again, I knew that Anakin wouldn't take sides. He never does.
"Ummm," Anakin said, backing away from her. "No."
"Fine! I can take you both down, no problem."
I chuckled softly and unhooked my lightsaber from my belt. This class would be rather interesting.
The teacher walked into the class then, Master Fden. He was an awesome lightsaber instructor. It seemed as if he had eyes all over him, each of them watching all of us, seeing if we had problems or whatnot. He was one of the Masters that taught me how to properly fight with my lightsaber. He instructed all of us to begin our usual exercises. First came the stretches. We had to do a little of that before we actually got training. I had to see how this class went.
Calandra and I began first as Anakin practiced with another padawan learner. We both took our chances, dodging, thrusting, swinging. My aquamarine-colored lightsaber nearly got Calandra's shoulder, but I managed to miss. She eventually got me on my leg and I fell onto the mat. It would be red on my thigh tonight. I muttered quietly as she helped me up with a grin.
"Shut up, Cal."
Anakin and Calandra fought afterwards. Anakin beat Calandra with a quick swipe across the stomach. I just sat and watched as the two of them fought together. I would have Lys in my next period class. She also hated quantum physics.
After a large amount of little battles with all different padawans in the class, class ended and I said goodbye to them. I stared out of the windows while walking down the hall. I watched as my friend, Kairiku or Sailor Chibi Naboo, strode past me with a smile. She's one of the nicest girls you could meet. She was also one of my very first friends. Not to mention, she's Anakin's girlfriend. I don't exactly know how long they have been going out; maybe I should ask her.
I shrugged helplessly as I nearly walked right into Lys on the way into class. If she hadn't called my name and broke me out of my thoughts, I swear I would have hit her.
"Hey, Buttmunch," I said with a smile, walking right into class. I knew that Lys hated that name. I at least hope she knows I'm teasing her. She hasn't beaten me yet, so I'm assuming she knows I'm bantering. We call each other funny names all the time, ranging from the word I just used to butt monkey or anything like that.
She followed me inside, and we both sat at our usual assigned seats. Luckily, the teacher was lenient and placed her in front of me. We were both good in class. We didn't cause trouble like many other students. There are some that I know who are just plain terrible. They do almost anything to get on the teacher's nerves.
Our teacher went up to class, opened her book for attendance. I just fiddled with my pen and my hair. I was completely oblivious to the fact that someone had walked into the room. Someone new. Someone I hadn't seen before. "Class, we have a new student who just happened to get transferred from his old class to our class. I'd like you to give him a nice welcome. This is Talis Mstar-Lahr."
Lys slapped me roughly with her elbow, and I looked at her with a scowl. "What?"
"You are so rude. Stop fiddling around with that." She grabbed my pen away from my hand and put it on her own desk. "We have a new padawan, and boy is he cute."
I just looked at her and stared up at the front, where I noticed that most of the other people were looking. My eyes fixated on him, and I just stared. Everything seemed to go in slow motion then. You know when you watch movies and the whole love-at-first-sight thing hits one of the characters in the movie? Well, that's exactly what happened. Everything slowed down and all I could see was him.
He stared up at the class, yet still in slow motion. He gave us all a nice smile. I would have to say I have never in my life seen a smile like that on a guy. He had the most perfect teeth, all straight and nice. I thought I would melt just at the look of it.
His hair was midnight black - I'm telling you, it was really black. He had blue eyes too. Now you have to be able to picture it. Black hair and blue eyes. Can we say holy hell?! Hottie much?! Oh yeah! I just smiled dreamily at him, careful that I didn't look like a total idiot. He was tall, maybe a few inches taller then me. He was hot, that's all I can say at the moment to describe him.
"Talis, can you please go sit behind Lysthea over there? I'm sure she'll be able to get you settled in and explain to you what we have covered so far."
The teacher motioned him over in my direction, but I didn't know why. I was too busy looking at him.
"Lysthea? Will you be kind and help him?"
Again, Lys had to hit me. I went back into reality and just stared. "What?"
That was when I felt like the biggest loser in class. The class started chuckling. They knew I liked him. Even Lys knew at that moment that I liked him. I blushed as he walked past me and sat behind me. I thought I was going to die.
Talis smiled at me, and I noticed a little blush in his cheeks too. Good, at least I wasn't the only one.
"Sorry," I said quietly as I turned to face him. "Biggest idiot in the class. My bad."
He chuckled at me and shook his head. "Actually, I'm thankful you turned the class's attention away from me. I felt like I was like three inches tall up there."
The sound of his laugh made me ease up a little, and I smiled. "I guess I should say 'You're welcome,' then?" I took my books out and passed them to him. I proceeded to explain to him the majority of the math I got, but just by looking at it, he seemed to actually know this. "You get this stuff?"
"This is easy. It's not hard at all. I should be fine. Thanks... your name was Lysthea, right?"
Our eyes locked and I just nodded, afraid that if I said anything it would come out more a squeak than anything else. He passed the book back to me, and I turned and asked Lys for my pen back. She gave it back to me with a little snicker, and I punched her gently. "Shut up," I muttered to her. She just shook her head and told me, "No."
The rest of the class was hell to me. I didn't get this. The formulas were still getting to me. UGH! I hate math! It's so stupid. I watched as the clock hit nearly 11:35am. Class was over and now onto lunch! I slammed my books shut and placed them on top of one another. I had time to go back up to my quarters and place the subjects that I was done with back in my room. Talis stared at me. I caught his stare and looked back at him. "You're having trouble with physics, aren't you, Lysthea?" he asked me sternly.
"Yeah," I said as I walked past him. "It's all the math and the thinking that's involved. I don't get it. I never have. I don't think I'm going to pass this class with above a seventy average."
"You need help?" Talis asked me as we walked beside each other. Lys was walking beside me, and I quickly told her that we'd meet her at our usual table at lunch. We always ate lunch together. It was like a tradition.
"Are you offering it?" I asked with a smile as I turned toward him.
He nodded. "You didn't even ask your Master for help, did you?"
I shrugged helplessly. "Well, no..."
"Lysthea, that's what Masters are there for. If you ever have any problems with anything, they're there for you. They'll teach you how to do whatever you have problems with." I could tell that he was angry with me.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. He sounded like Obi-Wan. I actually hate it when Jedi padawans lecture me. They make me feel like I'm dumb or something. It should be the Masters who lecture me, not the other way around. I shrugged and walked out of the classroom. He was a persistent little thing and wouldn't leave me alone.
"I'd be glad to help you out if you need it - and if your Master lets me, of course."
I stopped and looked at him with a smile. "You sure you wouldn't mind?" He shook his head. I then told him I would and headed to lunch with Lys and the others.
The rest of the day was boring. I had lunch with Suta, Lys, Raven, and Minae, as usual. We always sit together besides on some occasions. Lunch was fun, and then Universal History was boring. History was also pretty boring.
That's my normal daily routine in class. Most of my classes are boring, but Sevria insists that they are all for "the well-being of my education". Yeah... I asked Sevria after school about the whole tutoring thing. She thought it was a good idea but then gave me yet another lecture. That was all I needed. I listened to her carefully and quietly but kept on glancing back at the time. I kept on wishing that she'd hurry up. She caught my thoughts and I was forced to do yet some more meditation and lessons to rid me of my obnoxiousness.
Talis and I have been studying together for nearly three weeks. I'm truly beginning to understand how to do physics. It was all a matter of time before I got it. The math with the velocity and all that, it's all so undemanding of brainwork now that I know how to do it.
It was just yesterday's tutoring session that made it a little more fun. Over the three weeks, we've gotten closer to each other. We both got to know each other better than we had previous to our first meeting. It was just yesterday that the two of us kissed for the first time. Believe me, I've never been kissed quite like that before. That was my first time ever kissing any boy at all.
I saw him again in Quantum Physics today. We both couldn't stop cracking jokes or talking, and we both got thrown out of the class. We were both laughing our butts off when we were sent to the headmaster of the academy. Even at the session, we both couldn't stop chuckling. Sevria was informed, and I've been on constant meditations and Katas now. I've been suspended from the academy for the next two days until I get my act together. Sevria also knows about Talis and me. I didn't tell her - she just knew. That's what Masters are supposed to do, I guess. They're supposed to know exactly what's going on in their padawan's lives. I was spoken to about relationships between students at the Jedi Temple. It was strictly watched over. It wasn't banned though - padawans were allowed as long as it didn't begin interfering with school or anything. Padawans were also advised to watch what they did and show no means of public affection. I swore on my honor as a padawan learner that I wouldn't let it get in my way of learning and heading for my goal to be a Jedi Knight.
Yeah, but that's my little diary entry for the day. It's rather long, don't you think? I'll keep on filling you in on the details of my life, and Talis, for that matter. I still haven't informed Annika about it. Lys, in my opinion, I think she knows, but I'm not too sure. I suppose I'm going to call her now and talk to her on our holoprojectors. I want to know what she thinks of the whole situation. She is, after all, my sister, and we share everything, all the way down to the last little lies. I wonder what Annika will say... what would Obi-Wan say?...
Luv,
