Melesse is a mute, but can talk through "thought-speak." She is the daughter of Magena Ryo and Yasuo Shakaka (Peaceful Angel of fire) and was sent into the past to help protect Megena and the Kaiburr crystal as a newer and greater evil arises. Though, seriously speaking, Melesse is the LEAST likely candidate for this mission, as she is fun-loving, clumsy, and inquisitive, but also shy at times.

In the past she met and befriended a strange creature which she calls Q because that's the only thing it says. Even though Q can't speak Basic, Melesse can still understand and communicate with him. Q also has strange powers, which Melesse is still discovering.
