The blasts kept coming at him. One by one they put a small hole in everything they hit, including the table that Souru and Tenshi were using as a shield. A direct hit to the middle of the table caused it to fall apart on impact. Souru stood, looking in the direction the blasts, only to see a few guards. They ceased fire when they knew that Souru and Tenshi were no longer shielded. Souru and Tenshi stood with their hands up in defeat; it seemed helpless. Early on in the battle, Souru had tried to transform into the Corellian Knight, but he couldn't. The same thing happened to Tenshi, restraining her transformation as well. A menacing laugh could now be heard in the room, and Souru knew right away who it was.
Kai.
"Ah, Souru, it's nice to see you again. It's been a while," Kai said as he stepped out from the shadows. He held an E-11 blaster rifle fixed on the couple. Souru took a step forward, but froze as Kai moved the rifle closer towards Souru. "I would stay there if I were you. This is set on kill with the rapid fire mode engaged. One more move and you're vaped."
"What do you want, Kai? You have already succeeded in getting some sort of power that won't let us transform," Souru said, disgusted with the man. Just then Tenshi took a step forward to stand next to Souru's right shoulder. Kai noticed her movement and aimed the blaster at her chest.
He pulled the trigger.
In the blink of an eye, Souru threw himself towards Tenshi, wrapping his arms around her in a hug, his back to Kai and the blaster shots. They pierced his tunic, then the skin in his back. First ten, then twenty, then thirty. Kai laughed and turned to his guards.
"All right, let's go."
As they left, Souru let go of Tenshi and fell to his knees. His back was a bloody mess and ached more then anything, and he knew that he wouldn't survive. He zoned out as he fell to his knees, not hearing Tenshi's cries to see if he was all right. Then everything went black. It was over.
Souru woke in a cold sweat; he was alive and he felt fine. Maybe it was a dream, or even a vision of what to come. He looked over at Tenshi, who was still asleep next to him, her golden locks tied up in a braid. Only a dream... he thought as he turned over, trying to go back to sleep. But the dream kept haunting him; he kept seeing Kai's maniacal face, hearing his insane laughter. His eyes caught the glare of the chronometer on the wall. One in the morning.
Souru stood up and shook out his platinum-blonde hair. He stepped into the 'fresher and splashed cold water on his face to try and get the dream out of his head. Apollo jumped up onto the counter and stared up at Souru.
"What's up?"
Souru sighed and related the entire dream to the grey cat, right down to when he woke up.
"So that's why the bed's so cold."
Souru turned around, startled at the sudden voice behind him. Tenshi stood in the doorway, wrapped in her blue terrycloth robe, her braid slung over her shoulder. Souru's alarm melted away. "Sorry..."
"Don't be. I know how those dreams work. Scare you to death and haunt you for weeks. I've been there, baby." Tenshi looked down at her feet. Souru shook his head.
"Don't worry about it. It was only a dream, anyway. He's not dumb enough to try that."
"Oh really? Well, hotshot, if your face is clean you can get back to bed," Tenshi said with her trademark half-grin.
"How many times," Souru began, "must I tell you to stop calling me that?"
"Until I stop." Tenshi laughed, yawned, and crawled back into bed. Soon after, Souru did the same, and fell into a dark, dreamless sleep.
Souru, Tenshi, Sutaru, and Nijihoshi were walking around in the Jedi Temple the next morning when a young Padawan ran up to the group. He informed Sutaru that there was "a black-haired guy busting up the training hall and demanding Souru be brought to him."
All four of them knew exactly who it was. "Kai."
Immediately, Souru attempted to transform, but to no avail. Tenshi also tried to transform, with the same results. Only Sutaru and Nijihoshi were allowed to transform.
Souru snarled and burst into the training hall before any of the girls could stop him. Sailor Corellia, fully aware of Souru's anger, pulled her wand from the pocket in her uniform and pushed its button. It grew quickly into her long staff. Chibi Corellia held her staff behind her, a bit unwilling to go into battle.
Tenshi ran into the hall right behind Souru.
Kai immediately stopped his destruction and turned to face Souru. He smirked. "Well if it isn't Souru! How are you this fine morning?"
"Cut the crap, Kai," Tenshi snarled, stepping up next to Souru.
Souru calmly waved a hand at Tenshi. "What do you want?"
"What is rightfully mine, of course. The power of Corellia!" He laughed. "I will have that power, even if I have to kill you to get it!!" Kai thumbed his nose at Souru.
"It's not yours to have!" Corellia and Chibi Corellia took flanking positions beside Souru and Tenshi. "So you can go back to whatever hole you crawled out of!!" The senshi pair held their staves out menacingly, the sharp durasteel of Corellia's reflecting the lights into Kai's eyes. "For magic and strength, I am Sailor Corellia, warrior of the planet Corellia! With the Force by my side, I will make you pay!"
"And I'm Sailor Chibi Corellia, and Magic and Rainbows will guide me straight and true to your undoing!"
"I see you brought your little twerps with you - what's wrong Souru, you can't take me yourself?" Kai said as he mocked Souru and the Sailors Coreillia. "They won't be needed here." Kai waved his right hand towards the girls, and they flew back against the wall as if thrown there by a strong gust of wind. He then took a nearby blaster and changed the setting to stun with a flick of his thumb. Kai then aimed and fired a stun bolt at both of the girls, knocking them out so they won't interfere.
"Damn it, Kai!" Souru shouted as he took a step closer to Kai.
Kai raised the blaster to aim at Souru's chest and flicked the setting to kill. Souru stopped dead in his tracks as he noticed the blaster aiming at him. "You're not so brave when you have a blaster pointed at your chest, are you? You're weak, Souru - you're not meant to be the Corellian Knight," Kai mocked him again. Behind Kai the large double doors opened, and four men dressed like Kai entered and took up a postion beside him, two on each side. They all had blasters, set to kill. They started to fire at Souru and Tenshi, but the couple was quick to duck behind a knocked-over table.
The blasts kept coming at them. One by one, they put a small hole in everything they hit, including the table that Souru and Tenshi were using as a shield. A direct hit to the middle of the table caused it to fall apart on impact. The four men ceased fire when they knew that Souru and Tenshi were no longer shielded. Souru and Tenshi stood with their hands up in defeat; it seemed helpless. Kai's menacing laugh could now be heard throughout the room, and Souru knew Kai was winning, and that Kai would win. He had seen this before, but it was slightly different from what he remembered.
It was his dream - it had come true.
Souru tried to calm himself because he knew he would suffer the same fate he had suffered in his dream. "What will you do, Souru? Any move you take will get you vaped."
Tenshi stepped up beside Souru's right shoulder. "You won't win, Kai."
"Oh really, and what makes you say that?" As Kai finished his sentence, he pulled back several times on the trigger, sending red kill bolts towards Tenshi. In the blink of an eye, Souru had thrown himself in front of Tenshi. Each shot pierced his tunic, then his back. His back felt numb with the odd sting of pain. Kai stopped shooting and lowered his blaster. Souru gathered his strength and looked down to see if Tenshi was okay. She was okay except for a shot wound on her right arm. Souru's eyes widened as he turned towards Kai. Kai raised the blaster, but it was knocked out from his hands before he could fire. Souru leaned over him, his eyes gone perfectly white so even the pupil could not be seen. Kai had done the worst thing imaginable towards Souru - he had injured his wife and knocked out his kids.
Souru released everything he had and blacked out. Tenshi watched in horror as the deranged Corellian Knight beat wildly on Kai. Souru spoke in deep anger filled voice. "IF YOU EVER HURT MY FAMILY AGAIN, YOU'LL WISH YOU WEREN'T IMMORTAL." When he finished, he yanked hard on Kai's left arm, pulling it free of its socket and the rest of his body. Kai fell to the floor and backed himself up out of the Knight's way. The four men helped him up and ran out of the room. Souru fell to his knees, transformed back into his normal self and fell face forward onto the ground. Tenshi ran over to help him, but he was out cold.
After the events in the training hall, Tenshi was able to wake the two scouts up, but was unable to wake Souru. She took him to the medical facility, and they put him in the bacta right way to heal his back wounds. The doctors applied a bacta patch to Tenshi's arm also to heal her wound. She then took Souru back home to let him get his rest until he woke up. The doctors said he was tired because he used up so much of his energy.
The next day, Souru finally woke up and asked what happened. Tenshi told him he was knocked out by a stun bolt and that Kai had run away. The last part was the only true thing she told him. If he found out he had transformed the wrong way again, he would never want to transform at all.
