Myra grinned as she watched the sunrise. Tashita and she had set this day aside just for them. Just two girls hanging out, having fun. They always had fun hanging out together, just the two of them.
The day has just started! Come on and hurry up! Myra chided Tashita.
Sorry, but I had to pack some food for us before we left, Tashita told her friend as she ran out of the Temple.
Yum! What did you pack? Myra nosed Tashita's pack.
Tashita grinned. You'll find out.
Myra turned up her nose. Well, I didn*t want to know anyway. Are you ready to go yet?
Tashita hopped up on Myra's back. Yes you did want to know, and yes I'm ready.
Tashita almost fell off as Myra unexpectedly took off. Been looking forward to this day? Tashita said chuckling.
Of course I have! And don't lie to me that you haven't, Myra retorted.
Tashita and Myra laughed as they climbed high into the pink and blue sky.
Tashita stretched her arms over her head, feeling the crisp, cool wind flow around her. Myra saw Tashita wasn't hanging on, so she decided to flip upside down. Tashita yelped in surprise and managed to grab a hold of Myra with one of her hands.
Don't do that!! Tashita said, trying to catch her breath.
Oh, come on. You know I would never let you fall. Myra turned her head to the side to look at Tashita. And I know you enjoy when I do that.
Yes I do, but not when I'm not expecting it. Tashita put her hands on her hips. You should be glad that our food is on my back.
Myra sulked. Sorry...
Tashita patted Myra on the neck. I'm joking, and you know that. And I love when you do that to me. Tashita smiled.
Myra smiled and looked down toward the ground. Hey, look down there.
Tashita stretched out on Myra's back to get a closer look. Yeah? What's down there?
Myra flipped upside down again, causing Tashita to fall toward the ground; Tashita yelled out in surprise. Myra then quickly dove down to catch Tashita on her back. Once back on Myra's back, Tashita hugged Myra's neck.
You okay? Myra asked concerned.
I'm great! Tashita grinned. That was fun!
I'm glad. Myra also grinned.
Once they had landed in a big park, Tashita unpacked her pack with a nosy dragon by her side.
Are you hungry? Tashita snickered.
No, not at all. Now hurry up and unpack the food!
Tashita laughed. She unpacked a huge steak and waved it around in front of Myra's face.
You want this?
Myra nodded her head. She proceeded to try to take the meat away from Tashita's hand. Tashita just kept backing up.
Come on! I'm hungry! Myra pleaded.
Tashita laughed and flipped the steak to Myra. Myra caught it in her mouth and started eating it.
Is it good?
Myra didn't say anything; she didn't want to stop chowing down on her breakfast.
Tashita once again laughed. I guess you were hungry. Tashita then settled herself down to eat her breakfast, a couple of bagels with cream cheese.
Myra then licked her chops. Thanks, that was delicious!
You're welcome.
Myra sighed, This is a comfortable spot. Myra looked up to the tree they were resting under. And plenty of shade for us.
It is. I like the view.
Myra looked out across the lake. Isn't this where we met?
Tashita smiled and rested up against her friend's full belly. Yep.
Myra looked at Tashita through sleepy eyes. I'm glad we met.
Tashita yawned. Me too.
Myra then looked questioningly at Tashita. What is it like to be human?
This question took Tashita by surprise. The brunette looked over at Myra. Why do you ask?
Myra gave the equivalent of a shrug. I always wonder how it is to walk on two legs and talk using vocal chords and not using mind speech.
Tashita produced a soft smile. I always wonder what's it's like to be a dragon.
Really? Myra asked.
Tashita nodded. I always think it would be cool to actually be flying.
Tashita and Myra both relaxed and sighed.
Do all dragons talk through mind speech? Tashita asked after a while.
No, not all. Some can talk using vocal chords, some can't. It depends on the type of dragon.
Tashita nodded her head. Not too long after that, both Myra and Tashita fell asleep.
Tashita was the first to wake up. She yawned and shook her tail. Tail? Her eyes widened in surprise. She slowly took a look at her body. Instead of skin, she had green scales. She then looked at where she was supposed to be and saw another being.
Umm, Myra?
Myra groaned.
Wake up and take a look at yourself.
Myra slowly opened her eyes, annoyed at having been waken up, and looked at herself. She jumped up in surprise and, since she wasn't used to having two legs, she fell right back down.
What happened? Myra asked while staring at awe at herself.
I don't know. But this is what we kinda wanted, isn't it? Tashita smiled.
Myra smiled. Yeah. Myra looked at herself; she had skin and hair.
You're pretty, Tashita pointed out. When you were a dragon, you could change the color of your scales - can you change the color of your skin?
That's a good point, Myra said. Myra tried, and it worked. Not only could she change her skin, but her long hair could change colors too.
The hair feels funny.
It just feels funny being a dragon. Okay, I need to get comfortable with this body.
So do I! Myra tried standing up, but fell right back down again.
Tashita then tried standing, but her back legs collapsed underneath her. She then tried to unfurl her big wings; she did, but she had a hard time getting them folded back.
While Tashita was having a hard time adjusting to her body, Myra was also in the same position. Myra had gotten to stand up, but walking was another matter. Once she took a step, she fell down. She was getting better at working her fingers and arms.
They both collapsed on the ground for the uncounted time. They looked at each other and busted up laughing.
This is harder than it looks! Tashita laughed.
Maybe we should help each other, Myra pointed out.
Tashita agreed.
With them working with each other, they got a little more comfortable with their foreign bodies.
Once they got comfortable enough, they rested.
Try talking with your vocal chords, Tashita encouraged Myra.
I don't know.
You can do it, Tashita encouraged Myra more.
It was a lot harder than walking, but Myra found that she could talk.
Myra looked up at Tashita and for the first time noticed something. You know your black and white earrings that you wear all the time?
Yeah, what about them?
You're still wearing them.
Tashita posed. Do they clash with my green skin?
Myra laughed. She changed her blue skin to match Tashita's green skin.
Now your hair clashes! Tashita pointed out.
Myra looked at her purple hair. I guess it does. She then changed her hair to white. How's that?
Tashita laughed. Much better.
Why don't you try to change your skin?
I don't think it would work. I couldn't change my hair or skin color...
But you're a dragon now. Come on - give it a try!
Sure enough, she could change her scale color. But Tashita found out she could only choose between three colors; black, green, and red.
They both had fun teaching each other new things.
It feels great to fly! Tashita said.
It feels weird not to fly! Myra said feeling the wind blow around her.
Myra then brushed some stray hair out of her eyes. Tashita took the opportunity and flipped upside down. Myra started falling down to the ground; she yelped in surprise. Tashita then flew down and caught Myra on her back. Tashita laughed.
That was fun! Now I know why you enjoy that so much! Myra said, hyped up on adrenaline.
Tashita laughed some more. I thought you might like that!
Hello, Beautiful.
The voice startled both Tashita and Myra.
Who said that? Tashita asked.
The voice laughed. Me.
Where are you? Tashita asked, getting annoyed.
Right above you, the masculine voice answered.
Tashita and Myra looked above them, and they spotted another dragon. They couldn't really see much of him, only a shadow because he was against the sun.
Come on down where I can see you better, Tashita said.
The other dragon swooped down below Tashita, and did a somersault and flew back up next to Tashita.
Tashita looked back at Myra and saw her drooling. Tashita chuckled. Like him? Tashita asked Myra.
Myra nodded her head.
What's your name, Beautiful? the dragon asked.
My name is Tashita. My friend's name is Myra.
They call me Nigel.
Myra cocked her head. They? They who?
Nigel was surprised. You human can talk to me? He flew over to the other side of them.
Tashita shook her head. I'm the human and she is the dragon.
He shook his head. Whatever.
Myra again asked, They who?
Oh. Nigel flew upside down. They... is nobody now. There was sadness in his voice.
Do you have somewhere to stay? Tashita asked Nigel.
He shook his head. No. I usually sleep wherever I can.
Come with us! Myra blurted out through mind speech.
Tashita laughed. We were headed to the Jedi Temple, you want to come? I'm sure they'll let you stay with them.
Sure, why not. Nigel had uneasiness in his voice.
Kalil ran out to greet Tashita and Myra once they landed. He suddenly stopped short, confusion crossed his face. He looked up and saw another dragon circling overhead.
Myra, you're going to have to talk to him - I don't think I can reach him through mind speech.
Sure. Myra jumped of Tashita's back. "Hi, Kalil. I'm Myra, and that is Tashita."
Kalil raised an eyebrow. He looked over at the dragon form of Tashita. He recognized her earrings and was shocked. "What happened?"
Myra, hold on. Let me at least try. I've done the impossible today anyway, which is to fly, Tashita told her friend.
Myra nodded her head.
Kalil. Can you hear me? This is Tashita.
Kalil just stood there, waiting for an answer.
"Kalil. Tashita is trying to reach you through mind speech - open up your mind to her," Myra said softly.
Tashita concentrated. Kalil. Please let me reach you.
A small weak voice answered, Tashita?
Tashita's eyes shot open. Yes!
Myra smiled.
Go get Mom for me please, Tashita laughed, and you can tell everyone that Myra and I switched places.
Kalil ran off to get Priire.
The golden-red Nigel landed beside Tashita.
So it's true! You two have switched places.
Myra nodded her head. But please don't go!
Tashita smiled mischievously and looked over at Nigel. Myra here thinks your handsome.
Myra's jaw dropped. Tashita...
Nigel laughed. I wasn't planning to go anywhere. I want to stick around and see what happens to you both!
Tashita narrowed her eyes at Nigel. And what does that mean?
Nothing. Uh, nothing at all. Nigel knew he got himself in trouble.
Really? Tashita bounced onto the unsuspecting Nigel. They had gotten themselves into a wrestling match.
Myra started to crack up. You two! Myra burst into fits of giggles.
Tashita, who had won, looked down at the red Nigel. She then stuck her tongue out at him. Nigel and Tashita laughed.
"I see nothing funny." Priire ran out of the Temple, followed by others.
But it is funny, Mom!! Tashita grinned.
Priire slowly looked over at the dragon form of Tashita. "That can't be you, is it?"
Tashita grinned an even bigger grin, Yep! If you don't believe me, look at my earrings.
"That's right, Tashita is a dragon and I am a human," Myra spoke up, moving next to Tashita.
"You're pretty," Mori commented.
Myra blushed and smiled.
"And this other dragon you see is Nigel." Myra pointed over at the golden dragon.
Nigel bowed his head.
"I still what to know what happened!" Priire said in a harsh voice.
We don't know what happened. Myra and I went to sleep and when we woke up, we had switched forms. Tashita threw up one of her hands.
"What did Tashita say?" Mori asked.
"She said that she or Myra doesn't know what happened to them - they had woke up from sleeping to find themselves in each other's form," Kalil informed the others before Priire had a chance to talk.
"And where did you find this other dragon, uh, Nigel?" Yuki asked, pointing a thumb in Nigel's direction.
"Well, we didn't find him, he found us." Myra smirked.
Tashita laughed out loud, And she won't let him go!
Kalil laughed and walked over to Nigel and patted him. "Don't worry, you'll have a good home here."
Nigel smiled. Thanks, human.
My name is Kalil.
Looks like you have a friend, Tashita observed.
Nigel and Kalil both smiled.
"Enough with this chit chat!!" Priire was getting upset.
Why? Don't you like me in this form? Tashita laughed.
Priire was about ready to kill something until Myra spoke up. "What do you propose we do? We can't tell you how we came to be in these forms, and we would have no idea of how to turn back."
"Well, what were you doing before you went to sleep?" Yuki asked.
Myra and Tashita looked at each other as they conversed. Myra then spoke up, "We were wondering what it was like to be in each other's skin."
Yuki nodded her head. "So my guess would be to want back to your original form."
Tashita smirked. I could of thought of that.
"But you didn't!" Priire narrowed her eyes at Tashita.
Tashita looked innocently up to the sky.
Myra again had changed her colors; she now had purple skin and pink hair. "I don't know if I want to go back being a dragon." She switched her hair color again; it was now blue.
Tashita nodded her head and added, I don't know if I want to be a human again.
Priire once again narrowed her eyes at Tashita. Before the blond knew it, Tashita had grabbed the blond's shirt in her dragon mouth and flew up into the sky.
"Let me go!" Priire demanded.
Okay, if that's what you want, Tashita giggled.
Tashita had let go of Priire's shirt and let her fall. Priire let out a yelp of surprise and screamed, "That's not what I meant!"
Tashita dove down and caught Priire on her back and laughed.
I meant to fly me back down to the ground! Priire said through mind speech in order to be heard over the wind noise.
I will. Tashita flew back down to where the others were.
Myra longingly looked up toward the sky and sighed.
Miss the skies? The voice startled Myra. Myra nodded her head.
I miss my form too. Tashita laid down next to Myra.
Myra sighed again and settled herself next to Tashita. It was nice to switch, but I want my form back.
Tashita smiled. Skin-sick.
Myra looked back at Tashita with a smirk. Ha. I get it. Home-sick, skin-sick. That's not funny.
It's not? I thought it was, Tashita grinned.
They both watched the sunset, and they fell asleep.
Hey, wake up, Nigel said, nudging the dragon form.
Huh? She woke up and looked at herself.
Tashita! Wake up! We're back in our original forms!! Myra said while standing up.
Hey, we wanted back in our original forms and we got it, Tashita smiled.
You're prettier in dragon form than human form. Nigel winked at Myra.
Myra blushed. I'm glad you get to see me this way. I was afraid you would leave before you saw me this way.
I'm never leaving you now. Nigel nosed Myra.
Awwwww, look at the cute couple! Tashita grinned.
Both Myra and Nigel blushed.
