The Lighted Path, Part One

By Chakra Ramahoshi/Sailor Chibi Dathomir

Chakra Ramahoshi sat quietly in her room, meditating. Though only eight, she already had a good grasp on the meditative process, and with the help of the Force and her clan sisters, she had learned to quiet her mind.

The day had been spent training with her mother, working on her powers and lessons on the galaxy. She had picked up Basic quicker than anyone else had... a fact that pleased the Clan. Chakra had only been a Senshi for a week now, since her "awakening". Her mother and the other Singing Mountain Clan sisters were still trying to figure out why Chakra was a full fleged adult when she was in her Senshi state. It made little sense to them.

Silent... unmoving... Chakra sat, allowing herself to drift deep into her meditative state. Suddenly... an uneasy feeling settled over her... sadness... a feeling of loss...

"I am..."
"Are you..."
"....I cannot do."
"...your father."
"My caring for you..."
"....an angel?"
"Do you remember..."
"....will remain."
"...very kind, beautiful..."
"...never let go."
"...your mother? Your real mother?"
"...but, sad..."
"I'm going to marry you."
"...I never knew her..."
"I love you, Ani..."
"No!!! NOO!!!"

Chakra Ramahoshi snapped out of her meditative state and shot up, shivering like a cold and frightened mouse, clutching her arms with opposite hands and whimpering. Such feeling... such sadness... Chakra was not equipped to handle the emotions that had come to her with the voices...

"So many voices.... oh, so many voices..." she sobbed, uncertain as to what happened to her.

In a moment, Chakra's mother had appeared, sensing something was amiss. Nom Da'Gara noticed her suspicions were well-had, as she saw her trembling daughter in her room.

"Chakra?" She moved to the small girl. "What happened, love? What's wrong?"

"Mama... I heard... voices..." Chakra was now beginning to truly cry, tears running down her cheeks. "They lost her!! And he did it!!"

"Who, Chakra?" Nom frowned, not understanding her daughter's cryptic statement.

Chakra shook her head. "I don't know..."

Nom kissed Chakra's forehead. "Remember, Chakra, through the Force you will see many things... the future and the past..."

The past... Chakra hadn't thought of that. Something that already happened? She looked up at her mother. "They were sad, Mama... all of them. They lost her." Chakra knew she probably wasn't making any sense to her mother, but she was trying to express an emotion through words, and at eight, that was difficult.

"It's alright, Chakra." her mother said soothingly. "The echoes of those long gone are probably strong with you right now because your Star Seed has awakened. It will pass." Nom smoothed Chakra's hair from her forehead, and left. Chakra stood alone.

She wanted to believe her mother. Her mother was wise and honest... but something felt... wrong.

"They lost her." Chakra repeated, whispering to herself. "He did it. But he loved her."

She moved to a nearby window, looking out at the darkening sky. Something was amiss. It stirred a deeper feeling within the young girl... a sense of duty, obligation. Something she must do.

Chakra's jaw set. Something she must do.

"They lost her." she said again. "He must be stopped."

Barefoot, Chakra crept outside, making sure her mother, who was in her room, didn't not hear. Her little dress swayed in the breeze of the cool night air. Twilight was upon Dathomir. Chakra made her decision.

"Dathomir Planet Power, Make Up!"

In an instant, Chakra Ramahoshi was Sailor Chibi Dathomir again. She stood now, Scepter held proudly in one hand, a full grown woman, looking up at the stars.

"I shall protect her Internal Light.." said Chibi Dathomir, closing her eyes. "I don't know why I feel this way..."

Why did she feel this way. Out to protect a nameless, faceless Someone... who was killed by a nameless, faceless Someone Else... she didn't know any of them...

But she knew they were important, somehow. They meant something... even from across space-time, she knew...

Her silver skirt blew softly in the wind. The crystalline eyes opened. "I know my duty as a Senshi. It shall be done." Holding up the Light Scepter, Chibi Dathomir cried to the Heavens.

"Time-Space Guardian! Grant me audience!" A distortion appeared directly above her, a whirling mass of clouds. They began to spin and cause a great noise... like that of a storm.

Suddenly, aroused by the noise, Nom appeared in the doorway of her home. She looked surprised and confused.

"Chakra! Chibi Dathomir? What are you doing?!"

Chibi Dathomir gave a smile to her mother as the storm grew ever stronger. "It's all right, Mother. I know my duty, and I have to do it."

"But you aren't trained fully yet!"

"I have enough to take with me."

"What is this duty, Chakra!" She stepped forward. "Please, come back!"

Chibi Dathomir raised her Light Scepter again. "I'm sorry Mother, I can't. I have to protect and save Her Light. They lost her... but he loved her."

The storm began to engulf Chibi Dathomir.

"Her who?!" cried her mother. "Chakra!"

"I'll be back Mama... Sailor Dathomir... I promise!" And with that, Sailor Chibi Dathomir vanished from her Guardian Planet.

The place was very thick with fog. Chibi Dathomir's visibility was limited. She moved slowly, so as not to bump into anything... or anyone. She looked around, taking in her surroundings with caution. "Where am I?" she whispered to herself.

"You are in an Stasis Dimension." said a female voice from behind Chibi Dathomir. She whirled around to see a Sailor Senshi, donned in a fuku of orange-red and yellow, with beautiful orange red hair holding a scepter. Sailor Chibi Dathomir was taken by surprise. She'd never seen another Senshi before...

"A Stasis Dimension?" asked Chibi Dathomir, confused.

"Yes." said the other Senshi. "Time does not exist here." She inclined her head slightly. "I am Sailor Yavin, Senshi of Beauty and Wisdom and Guardian of the Time Gates."

Sailor Chibi Dathomir inclined her head as well. "I am Chibi Dathomir, of Absolution and Destiny, Guardian of Internal Light."

Sailor Yavin raised her eyebrows. "Chibi Dathomir?" Chakra nodded. "I knew Nom had a daughter...but I never knew your Star Seed was awakened, Chakra."

"You know me?"

Sailor Yavin gave a smile. "Yes... I'm friends with your mother. My name is Fuukou Ippin. We'd heard all about you... but... you're all grown up..." She frowned. "How is this so?"

"It's hard to explain..." said Chibi Dathomir. "But, for some reason, I'm an adult in my Senshi state... we don't know why..."

Sailor Yavin nodded, then became a little more business like. "Why have you requested an audience with me, Chibi Dathomir?"

Chakra hesitated. "If you please, I must go to the past, Fuukou Ippin."

"Why?"

Again, Chibi Dathomir had no idea what to say. Slowly, she got her thoughts out. "There is... there's someone I must save. Someone who is in danger. I... I don't know who... but, I...." She frowned. This wasn't working. "I have recieved a vision of someone I must save, and I have to go to the past in order to do that." There. That wasn't so hard.

"Who is this person?" asked Yavin, suddenly concerned.

"Well... I don't know..."

"You don't know? Yet you want to go save them?"

"I have to, Sailor Yavin, please! I may not know who, exactly... but... she is calling to me. They lost her. It's my duty as Guardian of Internal Light. Hers is burning brightly in the past... but in the future... it's gone. I can't let that happen." Charka pleaded with her eyes.

Yavin seemed to be studying her. "You are a very dutiful woman."

Chakra lowered her eyes. "Thank you."

Yavin raised her Time Staff. "I will grant you leave to go to the past. In order to return, you will have to summon my past self."

"All right."

She opened a time portal with her Time Staff and then stood beside it. Chakra again hesitated.

"But... wait... how do I know where to go? I don't even know who I'm looking for."

"Just focus on her, Chakra. You can feel her through the Force, I'll wager. If you focus on her, when you enter the time portal, you'll be directed toward her energy," said Ippin.

Chakra nodded. "All right." She began to walk through, then stopped. "And thank you, Ippin... Sailor Yavin."

Yavin smiled. "You're welcome, Chakra. And please... when you come back, visit. I'd like to get to know you. After all, you're a fellow Senshi now."

Chibi Dathomir smiled, and walked through the time portal.... and onward to the Light Bearer....

The time portal held no light. It held no sound... but there was an overwhelming force pressing down on Sailor Chibi Dathomir as she made her way aimlessly through the space-time gap. She didn't know how much longer she could hold out... when suddenly, a pinprick of light up ahead grew to be another doorway, another portal... the past.

Sighing with relief, Chibi Dathomir gathered up all of her strength and hurled herself through the gate and onward to the past.

"Anakin?!"

Obi-Wan Kenobi was growing increasingly impatient as he searched for his Padawan, whom hadn't been seen or heard of since daybreak. Who knew what kind of trouble he would get into? Granted, it was his day off, and Obi-Wan didn't necessarily have to be around him... Anakin was ever so prone to getting into scrapes and mischief, even at twelve.

He sighed. Anakin wasn't on Temple grounds. Obi-Wan walked along the outside of the Temple, occasionally nodding politely at a fellow Jedi or Sailor Jedi as they passed... when suddenly, he felt a disturbance.

Obi-Wan paused. A portal opened, about ten feet away from him. Instinctively, he stepped back and put one hand to his lightsaber. Goodness knows what would come through...

With a cry, a small form hurtled through the portal, flying to the ground with a loud thud. She was out cold, on her stomach... a little girl, no more than eight or nine years old.

Obi-Wan was shocked. How could such a small girl survive a journey through a time portal? And where was the Senshi who should have accompanied her? Only a Sailor Jedi could have accomplished such a feat as a time portal. The portal closed only seconds after the little girl had come through, and Obi-Wan walked closer to get a better look at this visitor.

She had curly golden brown hair and an innocent sort of face. He wondered if she was all right... she wasn't moving at all. He knelt down and gently shook her. She didn't respond. Obi-Wan, without hesitating, picked her up and brought her inside the Temple... hoping that someone else better adept with children would take over and help this new addition...

Chakra was having a curious dream... she was face to face with someone; who, she couldn't tell. The Other held up a hand, and stretched it out toward her. She reached out to touch it.

We are one in the same.

Chakra stirred suddenly out of her dream, looking around, groggily. The very first thing she noticed was that she was out of her Senshi state. Gradually, the image of two men in robes and a tiny green alien in similar fashion came into focus. Chakra caught a piece of the conversation.

"...already have a Padawan, naturally, we'll assign her to someone else. At least until we figure out where she came from. Perhaps Adi Gallia would take her..." said a dark skinned man in robes.

"Yes, Master Windu." replied the other man. Chakra focused on him. He was young... noble in stature... kind of cute...

"Mmm... pity it is, strong with the Force, is she. If we had found her sooner..." mused the little green alien, who was cute too, but in an entirely different way than the young man. "And no more elder children shall we accept, Mace Windu," the alien continued.

Mace Windu chuckled. "Of course not. We have enough as it is with our Chosen One."

Suddenly, the young man noticed Chakra had woken. He and the others moved to the bed in the small room. "Hello there," he said with a slightly accented voice. "How're you feeling?"

Chakra sat up, blinking as she took them all in. They were... Jai. "I'm fine," she said.

"My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I'm a Jedi Knight. This is Master Mace Windu, and Master Yoda." He motioned to the others behind him. They nodded at her. Losing a bit of her bewildered expression, she gave them a tiny smile and a little wave.

"My... my name is Chakra Ramahoshi," she said in a small voice, not quite sure why she was so timid.

"It is nice to meet you, Chakra," said Master Windu.

"Might I ask... where you came from?" asked Obi-Wan.

Chakra looked at Obi-Wan a long time before answering him. His Light... shining so brightly inside... he must have something to do with Her...

"I'm from Dathomir," Chakra told him.

"Ah, explains the Force, it does," said Yoda. "Tell me, child... how did you get here?"

"Sailor Yavin" was Chakra's simple reply.

Obi-Wan nodded. He knew a Senshi was behind all this. "But... Chakra, why are you here? Are you from the past? Or... the future?"

Chakra really did not want to answer the first part of that question. Not just yet. These Jai would not understand... she did not understand. And she was very confused.

"I am from the future. I... I don't know why I'm here..." she lied.

Obi-Wan and Mace seemed to accept this answer. Yoda, though, Chakra thought, could see right through her. However, if he did, he didn't say anything.

"Well, until we figure out why you're here, you'll stay with us, Chakra," said Mace.

Chakra nodded. "Thank you." She then thought of something. "If you please sir, how did I get in here? And where am I?" She looked around. "I'm in the Jai temple, aren't I?" she asked, using the Dathomir pronunciation of Jedi.

"In the Jedi Temple, you are," Yoda confirmed. "Obi Wan brought you in, he did."

Chakra turned her shining eyes to Obi Wan.

"You were unconscious," he said. "I thought you might have gotten hurt."

Chakra didn't know what to say. She just stared, a grateful look mixing with the awe and admiration on her face. He saved her...

Obi-Wan seemed to pick up on her silent gratitude. He gave her a quick smile, then turned to Mace Windu and Yoda.

"If you'll excuse me, masters, I have to go looking for Anakin."

Mace and Yoda nodded, but Chakra shot suddenly out of her bed.

"No!"

Obi-Wan stopped, looking perplexed. Mace Windu went to Chakra and knelt beside her. "What's wrong, Chakra?"

Chakra blushed. "Can't... can't he stay?"

"I'm sorry, Chakra," said Obi-Wan Kenobi. "But I have duties I must attend to. Master Yoda and Master Windu will find you another Jedi to watch over you. You won't be alone."

"Maybe I can even show you around a bit," Mace Windu offered.

"Thank you, sir, but..." Chakra moved to Obi-Wan and seized his hand. "Couldn't I stay with you?"

"Chakra--"

"Just for a little while, " Chakra pleaded. For some reason, Obi-Wan represented something... familiar... something stable... something that she wanted to be near. It was purely a comfort issue... he gave her a sense of familiarity which she couldn't understand, nor did she try. It was enough that he was there.

Obi-Wan looked exasperatedly to Mace Windu and Yoda. Yoda was on the verge of chuckling.

"Please? I'll help you find Anakin... whoever that is," Chakra offered.

Obi-Wan stared into the child's face, shining with hope. He looked again to his Masters.

"It is up to you, Obi-Wan," said Yoda.

Obi-Wan nodded and gave a resigning sigh. "All right... all right..."

Chakra Ramahoshi gave a bright smile. Obi-Wan knelt down. "But you can't cause any trouble."

"Oh, I promise!" Chakra cried and threw her arms around the Jedi's neck. He got a look of pure horror mixed with utter confusion. Yoda and Mace had to contain their laughter.

Obi-Wan pried the little girl's arms off of him, and with another great sigh, said, "Come on...oh boy..."

Obi-Wan seemed worried. He couldn't seem to ease up. He kept searching every place they ventured to keenly, as if looking for something of a great importance and great burden. Chakra still had a hold of the Jai's hand, and she too was looking intently. However, this began to get boring after a while, and they didn't seem to be getting anywhere in their search.

"ANAKIN!!" Chakra yelled. "OH, ANAKIN! ANA-hey, wait...who is Anakin, anyway?" She looked up at Obi-Wan, who was looking almost rueful.

"He's my Padawan."

"Padawan... oh! A Jai in training!" Chakra said, proud she remembered.

"Yes. And I'm worried... I don't know where he's been all day." Obi-Wan said. Chakra put on a thoughtful frown. Maybe she could find this Padawan Anakin... She closed her eyes.

One of her talents was sorting out people's "lights"... souls, if you will. She simply concentrated on Obi-Wan's desire to see his Padawan again, and searched...

Chakra nearly doubled over when she finally found who she was looking for. His light! It was blazing! Like a fire... it was burning as brightly as Hers... he too, must be somehow connected to Her... Chakra nearly grew giddy. Maybe he could give her answers... answers to who she was looking for.

She followed the burning light... and opened her eyes. "I know where he is! Come on!"

Obi-Wan let himself be led by the young girl, not without noting her obvious change in demeanor. She seemed... happy, thrilled... and he felt something distinct in the Force when she was looking for Anakin. He wondered just what this girl was all about...

Suddenly, Chakra and Obi-Wan came upon three girls sitting the grassy area behind the Jedi Temple. Each one looked up before donning a smile, each smile a little different from the last. The first one, a brown haired brandy-eyed girl of about twelve smiled cheerfully. She had two teardrop odangos, lending her a funky look. The second one was drastic and beautiful standout, with hair and eyes of ice blue. She virtually lit up when she saw them coming. The third, with black, green tipped hair and black eyes, smiled calmly and showed an interest in the visitors. She was older than the other two... perhaps about twenty-one.

Obi-Wan smiled, and nodded at them but was eager to continue on his way for Anakin. Chakra however, had stopped dead, and since she was still latched onto Obi-Wan's hand, she forced him to stop as well. Her crystalline eyes focused on the black haired woman. She couldn't believe it...

"Mo-" Chakra began to cry "Mother!" but then halted at the very last minute. She didn't want to have to explain why she was here... from the future... Chakra thought it best to hold her tongue for a little while.

Obi-Wan looked down at Chakra, puzzled. "Something wrong?"

Chakra turned her eyes up. "No... nothing. She just..."

The girl with the ice blue hair called out to them. "Hello, Obi-Wan! Who's your friend?"

Obi-Wan sighed. He hated having to divert his attention, but he went over to the three anyway, and introduced his young companion.

"This is Chakra Ramahoshi," he explained. "She came from the future, through a time portal, and the Jedi have decided to keep her here for a while... until we figure out why she was brought here."

This seemed to interest everyone. "Really?" asked the brown haired girl. "Did a Senshi help you?"

Chakra nodded.

"Cool!" she said. "Hi! I'm Chirudo ChibiSuta," said Suta with a grin.

"I'm Kirin Yukiko!" the girl with the ice blue hair said.

"I am Nom Da'Gara," the black-haired woman said with a smile. She was fond of children. "It is nice to meet you, Chakra."

"It's nice to meet you, too," said Chakra. She wanted very badly to simply run into her mother's arms... she was only eight, after all, and she had never been apart from her mother for very long before. However, she reminded herself, her mother would be strong, and so would she. Still, the temptation of revealing herself to Nom was almost too much.

Yukiko stood up, giving a smile to Obi-Wan. "What are you up to?" she asked.

"Well I'm looking for Anakin... I haven't seen him all day... and I'm beginning to wonder if he's all right."

"Oh, well, we'll help you look for him," Yukiko volunteered brightly. "I'd be glad to help you!"

ChibiSuta looked down at Chakra and winked, indicating that she was picking up on Yuki-chan's vibes of an Obi-Wan crush. Chakra caught on and frowned.

Obi-Wan opened his mouth to answer, but Chakra moved in front of him, planting herself in between Yukiko and him. She glared up at her and held onto Obi-Wan's hand possessively.

"I'm helping him find Anakin. We don't need anymore help."

Obi-Wan was shocked. "Chakra! Please, if you are to stay with me, you'll have to be nice."

Yukiko was frowning down at the little girl. She was interfering with some quality Obi-Wan time here. "And who made you the little boss-lady, hm?"

"And who dyed your hair?"

Yukiko's eyes flew open wide. "THIS is all natural!!!"

"Could have fooled me."

Nom and Suta were laughing as Yukiko stuttered over words. They both knew that Yukiko had a heavy crush on Obi-Wan, and the little fight was rather amusing. Obi-Wan was rolling his eyes in exasperation. Nom leaned over. "Your little friend seems to know exactly what she wants, does she not?"

Obi-Wan shook his head as Chakra-chan let go of his hand to battle it out with Yuki-chan. Suta was watching, thoroughly entertained.

"I don't know what to do with her," said Obi-Wan. "Wait a minute... Nom... you're Dathomirian, aren't you?"

"Yes," Nom said.

"The little girl comes from Dathomir, maybe you could--"

"I DO NOT SMELL!" Yukiko yelled suddenly.

"WELL I'M NOT A RABID HYENA!!" Chakra yelled back. "Erm... whatever that is..."

"Whoa! Maybe you two should take a little break, eh?" said Suta. "I think there's gonna be bloodshed in a few seconds."

Chakra marched over to Obi-Wan, nose in the air, and latched onto his hand again. "Come on, Obi-Wan... Anakin is over here." She began leading him away.

"WHAT a little BRAT!" said Yukiko as they walked away.

Chakra looked over her shoulder and pulled her bottom eyelid down while sticking out her tongue.

"OOOOOOOOH!" Nom and Suta held Yukiko back before she tried to run after her.

Nom grinned. "What a spirited little one." She thought a moment. The child was Dathomirian... from the future. Naturally, Nom was curious. Who knows? Perhaps the child would know of her clan... or at least have heard about Stone River...

"Chakra!" cried Nom.

Both Chakra and Obi Wan stopped and turned. "Yes?"

"Perhaps you would like to visit me later... I could show you my ship, The Mind's Eye."

Chakra's eyes lit up. "Oh, Miss Nom, that would be wonderful!"

Nom smiled. "Good. I will see you later!"

Yukiko's jaw dropped. "Now how come she's so DARNED nice to you?!"

Suta giggled. "Nom's not trying to move in on her territory."

"Territory?! Who said the little fungus claimed him, huh?"

"Oh, Yuki-chan, Yuki-chan..."

"What??"

They found him in one of the most unlikely places to find a twelve year old mechanical genius you could think of: a quiet park across from the Jedi Temple, filled with plants and trees that were part of the original biological life on Coruscant before the city took over. As Obi-Wan Kenobi and his small companion Chakra Ramahoshi approached, Anakin Skywalker turned to see them, sensing their approach.

Anakin didn't focus on the girl as much as he focused on Obi-Wan. His Master seemed quite upset. He blanched, inwardly. He'd only been training for about three years but he had caused enough trouble for ten Padawans in a ten year span of time. Realizing he somehow messed up again, he stood and waited for his Master and the girl to approach.

"Hello, Master," said Anakin, looking rather sheepish.

"Anakin, have you been here all day?" asked Obi-Wan. "Goodness, do you know how I've worried? I have asked you to check in with me, and you haven't since this morning." Obi-Wan's brow was furrowed, and he showed anxiety, but he did not yell, or speak angrily. Anakin had learned that was never Obi-Wan's way.

He lowered his eyes briefly. "I know, Master."

"If you know, why do you do it?"

"I..." Anakin recalled what Master Windu said to him a while ago. "I am reckless, and think on an impulse rather than consideration."

"This is a continual lesson, Anakin," Obi-Wan said. "You have yet to master it. That does not bode well for you."

Anakin nodded. "I know. And I am sorry, Master. I have let my mind wander, and I shouldn't have."

Obi-Wan was still upset, but he could tell Anakin was truly sincere in his apology. And he was. Anakin could never help it, but he always felt like he needed to be set free somehow. And he hated when he hurt his Master. He could sense that Obi-Wan was genuinely worried about him. Obi-Wan Kenobi was the closest thing to a father Anakin would ever have. He loved him and was shamed to worry him so.

The teacher noticed his apprentice wrestling with his guilt and put a hand on his shoulder. "It is in the past now, Anakin, but you must be mindful." As Anakin nodded, Obi-Wan realized that a small hand was still locked securely in his own. He looked down at Chakra Ramahoshi, who was gazing in turn at Anakin, interestedly.

Anakin looked at her, too. "Hi."

"Hello."

"Anakin Skywalker, this is... well, a new friend of ours, I guess you could say -- Chakra Ramahoshi." Obi-Wan explained where Chakra had come from and how. After he did, Anakin was now looking at Chakra with interest that mirrored her own.

"You're from the future? Wizard!" he said with a smile. "What's it like?"

"Well... I don't know... I've lived on Dathomir all my life." Chakra had the odd habit of acquiring the speech patterns of those around her. She spoke now in a rather soft, serious tone, one that reminded Anakin severely of Obi-Wan. He restrained a giggle.

"Wow, Dathomir? That's way out there," Anakin noted now. "Isn't Nom Da'Gara from Dathomir, too?"

"Yes," said Chakra eagerly. "I'm going to visit her later on."

Obi-Wan smiled briefly at the exchange between the two. They were actually quite a bit alike... Which might signify a whole lot of trouble, Obi-Wan realized fretfully, but with added humor. Seeing a lull in the conversation, he turned to his apprentice.

"Anakin, you said your mind was wandering," Obi-Wan noted. "What caused your lack of focus?"

Anakin gazed directly at Obi-Wan but said nothing. He seemed... distant. Chakra felt something unexplainable... like a mounting tension; like something was about to happen.

Finally, Anakin spoke. "I was thinking about Padme Naberrie, Master."

A jolt went through Chakra so immense that she almost jumped. Padme Naberrie! That name... what was it about that name?

"Queen Amidala?" Obi-Wan asked. Anakin nodded. Another rush of adrenaline went through Chakra. Was that Her? Could she be the Light?

"I... I miss her," Anakin said.

"Anakin, I know this is a trying time for you, but instead of missing her... feel like she is with you. In truth, the ones in our memories never really leave us, and they can help us, motivate us when we are lacking, or ill at ease. Yet they can harm us as well, if we dwell on their absence for too long," Obi-Wan said.

Anakin saw the wisdom of his Master's words. "Thank you, Obi-Wan," he said, smiling.

"Why don't you talk to her?" asked Chakra, very suddenly. "If you miss her, find a way to contact her." Chakra felt bad -- her reasons for wanting the communication were purely selfish, but if it happened, she would be able to see if this Padme Naberrie Amidala was the reason she came to the past...

Anakin seemed intrigued at the idea. "Do you think I could?"

Obi-Wan did not seem as enthusiastic. "Anakin.. the Queen is a very busy woman. I don't know if we should bother her with a 'check in' call."

Anakin's face fell. Chakra's did too. Obi-Wan looked at the two, his brow furrowing. "Oh... I'll see what I can do."

"Wizard!!" cried Anakin.

"Horray!" Chakra cried. She had adapted herself to Anakin's carefree sort of style now and was quite lighthearted at the moment. Perhaps her purpose would now be revealed...

Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind them. "Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chakra Ramahoshi!"

Everyone turned to see Nom Da'Gara walking up to them at a steady gate. Obi-Wan smiled at her, almost with relief. She was probably coming to take Chakra... not that he didn't like the little girl... but he did have other things to do....

"Hello, Nom."

"How are you, Nom?"

"Miss Nom! Hi!"

Nom smiled politely at each of them. "Hello, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Chakra. I am well, thank you. I came to see," she looked down at Chakra, "if Chakra would like to see my ship now."

"Oh, yes, very much, Miss Nom!" Chakra replied with enthusiasm.

Nom nodded. "Good. We shall be off, then?"

Chakra looked up at Obi-Wan and Anakin. "Will I... see you later?"

Anakin turned to Obi-Wan, who in turn looked at Nom. "I'll come to get her at sundown." He pet Chakra's head. "Be good, Chakra."

"I will, Obi-Wan!" she cried as he and Anakin began to retreat. She then reached her small hand up and fastened it in Nom's. The two Dathomirans began walking to the Mind's Eye.

Chakra's eyes were wide as she surveyed the ship. "It's beautiful!" Nom swelled with pride. Chakra ran up the hatch and into the inside, Nom at her heels. She went to the stateroom, the lounge, the bunkroom... everywhere, at each turn commenting on how amazing the ship was. In truth, Chakra had never seen her mother's ship before today. In the future, Nom had only told Chakra about her beloved ship and her adventures in it... so to see it was like walking inside of a story.

Nom was pleased. Her ship was her pride and joy. She enjoyed seeing Chakra in such admiration. It mirrored her own feelings about the vessel. Chakra had finished her inspection and now came back to Nom, who was sitting in a chair in the lounge. A smile was on Chakra's face.

"Having fun?"

"Yes, Miss Nom! I love it here!" Chakra said.

"I am glad." Nom studied the young girl, and felt something... peculiar... something that resembled familiarity and warmth... love and instinct.... she couldn't make light of it. But this girl was somehow connected to her. At first, Nom related it to the fact that they were both from Dathomir... but... perhaps it was more than that.

"What is the future like on Dathomir, Chakra?" asked Nom then.

Chakra thought about it. "What is the past like?"

Nom grinned. "It is very beautiful... with many mountains and valleys... and Clan Sisters living in harmony..." Nom seemed to get very sad at this... memories washed over her, and they weren't pleasant...

Chakra seemed to sense Nom's deeper discontent, for she went over to the woman climbed on her lap and hugged her. Nom stared down at the girl, and to her surprise, smiled. "Is something wrong, Chakra?"

"No. You always tell me stories before bedtime... so I guess I am just tired..."

"What?"

Chakra suddenly sat straight up, as if a bolt of lightning had hit her. She quickly jumped off of Nom's lap and looked frightened. Nom stood slowly, staring at the girl with wide eyes.

"What did you say, Chakra?"

"Nothing..."

"Do not lie," Nom said sternly. "You said something about me always telling you stories..."

"I.... I didn't mean to tell you... it slipped..."

"What slipped?!" Nom pressed. Suddenly, a cry rang out from outside of the ship.

"Nom! Get out here, quick!!" Nom recognized the voice... it was Yukiko's. With one last, confused glance at Chakra, Nom ran outside. In the hangar where The Mind's Eye resided, Sailor Sith Vortex was locked in a battle with Sailor Hoth. Yukiko had come over to see of Nom would like to go to dinner with her and some of the other girls when Vortex had intercepted.

She was cackling evilly as Nom came out of her ship and gasped at the sight.

"No! Hold on, Hoth! Dathomir Witch Power, Make Up!"

In no time, Nom Da'Gara had become Sailor Dathomir. "How dare you attack a Senshi! I shall punish you in the name of Life and Justice!"

Vortex spun on her and sneered. "Oh goodie... another Senshi to play with."

"Brown Water Spout... rise!"

"Hoth Blizzard... blast!" As both Sailors double teamed Vortex, Vortex yawned and launched herself high into the air, as both attacks given by the others missed her completely. Dathomir and Hoth both watched with wide eyes as she landed behind them and chuckled.

"You'll have to do better than that... Vortex Null G Force!" Much to their dismay, Dathomir and Hoth soon found that neither of them could move from their spot.

"No!" cried Sailor Hoth. "You won't get away with whatever your're planning, Vortex!"

"Really? Well, I think two Senshi hostages would suit my purpose quite nicely..." Vortex said darkly.

"Wrong!"

All three women looked to their right as the small form of Chakra Ramahoshi came marching down the ramp of the Mind's Eye. Dathomir strained in her rooted spot. "Chakra, get back in the ship! Stop!"

"Aiee! It's the brat! She's gonna get herself killed!" cried Hoth.

Vortex chuckled again. "Better listen to your friends, my dear... I am not one to trifle with..."

Chakra put on a determined frown and held up one hand. "Dathomir Planet Power, Make Up!"

Sailor Dathomir gasped. Hoth nearly passed out. They watched as little Chakra Ramahoshi turned into Sailor Chibi Dathomir, an elegant senshi of twenty-two. Vortex was even surprised. Chibi Dathomir held out her light scepter as the transformation ended.

"In the name of Inner Lights, I am Sailor Chibi Dathomir! In the name of the Sacred Light, you shall be punished!" she cried. Vortex began to back away.

"How did you...?"

"SACRED LIGHT REFLECTION!" Chibi Dathomir jumped in the air and held out her light scepter, which glowed with amazing light that rocketed to Vortex. The Sith Senshi screamed and vanished from sight, cursing the senshi as she went back to where she came from.

Sailor Dathomir and Sailor Hoth, having regained their mobility, stared now at Chibi Dathomir with confusion. Hoth moved forward. "Chakra?"

Chibi Dathomir nodded, her crystalline eyes shining. "Yes."

"You're a SENSHI?"

Chibi Dathomir laughed. "Apparently."

"Whoo boy..." Hoth then closed her eyes and powered down, as did Dathomir and Chibi Dathomir. Chakra was her eight year old self again, staring up at the two older women. Nom knelt in front of Chakra, looking both disturbed and intrigued.

"You are a senshi of Dathomir... that means that..." Nom paused.

Chakra lowered her eyes. "I thought it would be better for you not to know, I am so sorry...."

"Why are you sorry?" Nom put both hands on Chakra's shoulders. "I am not sorry... I... I am proud to know..."

Yukiko was staring quizzically at the exchange between the two Dathomirians.

"You are?" asked Chakra then, looking at Nom with hopeful eyes.

"Yes I am. I am proud to say you are my daughter." Nom hugged the young girl, and Chakra felt safe once more... safe with her proud and strong mother...

Not one of them noticed Yuki-chan scratching her head. "So wait... you're HER daughter...? Talk about no family resemblance... in more ways than one."
