The Thanksgiving Story

Rene knew that Thanksgiving was coming up, and she knew that a lot of the Earth-born sailor scouts were going to miss the holiday. She didn't know how much more time. She had left with her daughter and grandson, so she wanted to make the best of it. She had asked Master Yoda if she may have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for the sailor scouts. He had told her he had no problem with it as long as she took care of everything, and she had told him that she would.

After leaving Master Yoda, she went into the Room Behind the Waterfall and almost all the senshi were there. She had told them that she wanted to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, so she could give all the Earth-born senshi a traditional holiday, and she also wanted to show her grandson about Earth's different holidays too. Nom had told Rene she would help cook the dinner because she loved to cook. Yukiko, Priire, and Coru said they would help with the decorations.

So Rene was all set except for a place to have the dinner, when all of a sudden Annika and Obi-Wan walked in wondering what was going on, and Coru had explain that they were going to have a traditional Earth Thanksgiving dinner, but they still had no place to have it. Obi then told them that he would find a place for them to have it. He himself had never had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and thought it would be fun to try something different and also learn more about Earth because more and more sailor scots were being born on Earth. Everything was set when all of a sudden Anakin ran in looking for Obi because there was an important call for him from the Queen of Naboo. He went in the other room and turned on the holovid that Anakin had handed him, and he addressed the Queen.

"Good afternoon, your Highness. How may I be of service?" he told the Queen while bowing to show respect.

"Obi-Wan, the reason I decided to call you was because you have helped us before and we need your help again. Some of the people on Naboo had spotted a few Sith, and they even tried to get into the palace. My guards have stopped them to a point, but they will not leave. Can you come as soon as possible to help us out again?" the Queen said, wormed.

"I will help you, your Highness. May I bring some of the sailor scouts to help me out?" Obi asked as he saw Kagerou hiding behind the door. When he saw Obi looking at him, he took off to the Room Behind the Waterfall.

"You may bring the all you can, and thank you for helping us out again." With that, the Queen bowed and then turned the holovid off. Obi then turned of his holovid and started back to the Room Behind the Waterfall.

When he got there Kagerou was telling the sailor scouts about what he had overheard from Obi-Wan with his conversation with the Queen. As soon as Obi entered the room, all eyes went on him. He told them that it was true and that Kagerou shouldn't been spying on him and the Queen. But he told him that they would deal with that later because they had to leave as soon as possible. He then turned to the sailor scouts and asked them if anyone would like to come with him and Anakin to help out. He also asked Nom if they could use the Mind's Eye so they could get there. Nom agreed to go with them and help out - after all, it was her ship. Priire, Yukiko, Rene, and Annika all volunteered to go to Naboo, when all of a sudden Kairi-chan and Chouko walked in and wondered why everyone was in a rush to get out of the door. Coru explained to Kairi-chan and Chouko what was going on and where everyone was off to in a hurry. They all left for the hangar so they could get on the Mind's Eye so they could get to Naboo as soon as possible. Yukiko, Priire, Annika, Rene, Nom, Obi-Wan, and Anakin all climbed the ramp to the Mind's Eye. As soon as everyone was seated, they took off to Naboo.

Obi-Wan had filled them in about what was happening at Naboo. But Anakin knew why Obi-Wan was a little tense going back to Naboo. It wasn't very long ago that Qui-Gon had gotten killed on Naboo, and Obi-Wan had not been back since then. But he knew that the Queen needed his help, and so he had to go help her. He also had to put all his emotions of what happened to Qui-Gon on Naboo in the back of his mind, and had to focus on the here and now. If she had not asked for him and Anakin personally, he would have had Master Yoda send someone else to go and help her, but she had asked for them by name. He couldn't let his emotions get to him to do with Qui-Gon, even though he knew that everyone knew what had happened to Qui-Gon on Naboo, and they didn't bring it up because they know how Obi-Wan had felt about what had happened.

When they got out of Coruscant's atmosphere, they went into hyperspace so they could get there in a couple of hours. They would go to Naboo, take care of the Sith, and get back to Coruscant by nightfall with no problems at all. When they got to Naboo, Nom, Rene, Priire, Yukiko, and Annika had transformed into Sailors Dathomir, Dantooine, Asteroid, Hoth, and Bakura. As soon as they landed, they were attacked by the Siths. There was Geri, Darth Syn, Sith Taanab, and Wayland. Darth Syn was going to be the hardest one to defeat because he liked to play mind games, and he had turned Sailor Bakura on Obi-Wan before when she had almost killed him; if it hadn't been for his love for her, she might had killed him. Wayland was also going to be hard to defeat because he had the invisible wall move. They had defeated them once, and they can defeated them again.

As soon as they got off of the ship, they thought they were going to be greeted by the Queen and her guards, but instead they were attacked by the Sith. So Annika, Nom, Yukiko, Priire, and Rene transformed into Sailors Bakura, Dathomir, Hoth, Asteroid, and Dantooine while Obi-Wan and Anakin lit up their lightsabers. Anakin was impatient, so he went after Darth Syn himself, trying to get him to back down. Sailor Bakura and Sailor Dathomir went after Geri, while Sailor Hoth and Sailor Asteroid went after Wayland and Sailor Dantooine tried to cover everyone's back, especially Obi-Wan's, who went after Vra Vji, because he was still feeling hurt from what had happened to Qui-Gon not too long ago there on Naboo. Geri used lightning bolts trying to get Sailor Dathomir and Sailor Bakura down. They avoided the lightning bolts as much as they could; Sailor Bakura used Waterfall Blast at the same time that Sailor Dathomir used Brownwater Spout Rise. Geri was attacked with a double blast from Sailor Bakura and Sailor Dathomir at the same time, which made her lose her balance and fall to her knees. But before they could hit her again, she called a bolthole and disappeared, because she know that she couldn't defeat two senshi at the same time, and she was already weak from both of their attacks.

Meanwhile, Wayland had Sailor Hoth and Sailor Asteroid between a rock and a hard place. He had used Sith Dream Destroy on them, and they were being tortured with pain from their pasts. Sailor Hoth had tried to shout, "Blizzard Blast!" but she was having trouble getting her hands together so she could blast him. Sailor Asteroid was trying to use Asteroid Shower, Power but she was being tortured too much to focus. Sailor Dantooine, Sailor Dathomir, and Sailor Bakura came to their rescue. They hit with everything they had, and he went flying through the air, but before they could hit him again, he escaped. They didn't go after him; instead, they went over to see if Sailor Hoth and Sailor Asteroid were okay. They were shaken up, but they would be fine in a little while. After they made sure they were okay, they went to help Obi-Wan take care of Vra Vji and Anakin take care of Darth Syn. Vra Vji was throwing things at Obi-Wan with her mind, and she was very skilled in the Dark Side. They thought if they could hit her at once then they could get her down. Obi was losing this battle, and they needed to do something quick before anything happened to him. Sailor Hoth got up enough strength to use Blizzard Blast against her. She sent a powerful blast ice at her. She was too weak to try and hit them with flying objects even though she tried her hardest. Sailor Asteroid then hit her with Asteroid Shower Power before she could regain her strength. Vra Vji know she wasn't going to win again the Jedi, so she escaped before they could do more damage to her.

When they got to Anakin and Darth Syn, he was meeting Anakin blow for blow. Obi-Wan decided that he needed to help Anakin so they could defeat Darth Syn. Obi also knew that he had to focus or they would end up getting hurt; they had to work together as a team, he and Anakin. Darth Syn thought he could handle Anakin and Obi, but when he saw Sailors Dathomir, Bakura, Hoth, Asteroid, and Dantooine coming toward them to help Obi and Ani, he thought it was a good time to try and escape before things got out of hand. Ani was a little disappointed that Darth Syn had gotten away though. They could and would've defeated all the Sith, but they ended up getting away. They weren't upset at all - at least Naboo was safe again. Sailor Hoth had decided to use Snowflake Kiss to calm all of the civilians down from the Sith's attacks. Afterwards, they transformed back into Nom, Rene, Yukiko, Priire, and Annika and headed to the Queen's palace to see if the Queen was alright. When they got there, they found the Queen unharmed and out of danger. She had thanked them for helping her and her people out once again. Obi told her that they would stay for a while to make sure that the Sith wouldn't come back, but he was sure they wouldn't. Obi and Ani stayed with the Queen for the time being because Ani liked talking to her and he hadn't seen her since the last time they were on Naboo, and he wanted to see how things were with her.

Meanwhile, Annika, Nom, Priire, Rene, and Yukiko, who have never been to Naboo decided that they wanted to look around, and with Obi's permission that they could go look around, they decided to go to the marketplace because they wanted to check it out to see how different it was from Coruscant's marketplace. They were only going to be there for a couple of hours before they had to head back to Coruscant. In the meantime, Ani and Obi were at the palace. Ani had told the Queen that they were having a Thanksgiving feast when they got back to Coruscant. Since she didn't know what one was and since Anakin didn't know how to explain what one was, he asked Obi-Wan to explain to the Queen. He was telling her that it was an Earth tradition and that Rene wanted to do it for all the Earth-born senshi because they were now here in the Snickers Galaxy and not on Earth anymore, which was a nice thing for her to do for them. He told her that he was also helping out by finding a place on Coruscant so they could have it for everyone. He told her that Nom and Rene were going to cook the dinner, while a few of the others were going to decorate. They were going to celebrate the holiday in a few days. When Obi was talking to her, she could see that he was more relaxed while talking to her than when he was alone. She was wondering if he was still having trouble dealing with Qui-Gon's death. She didn't want to ask him because he might tell her that it was a private matter or he might get upset about it either way, and she didn't went to push the subject either, so she let it drop. She knew that in time, if Obi wanted to talk about it, he would talk about it to someone. So they ended up talking about the celebration for a while.

Later that evening, the Queen escorted them back to the ship to see them off, and her guards came with them too. Before they left, the Queen asked Rene if she could come to the celebration because she had never been to one, and she would like to find out more about it. Rene told her that she was more than welcome to come and join them, but she would have to call her later to tell her were it was going to be because Obi had to find a place for them to have it. He did have a place in mind, but he wasn't sure if they were going to be able to get it until tomorrow. The Queen understood, and she couldn't wait. She wished them a safe journey home.

They had gotten back to Coruscant very late, and when they got in everyone had headed back to their quarters. They all needed to relax because they were exhausted from the day's events. Obi-Wan and Anakin bid the girls a good night and headed for their quarters. When they got to their quarters, Ani just went straight to bed without saying good night to Obi-Wan. Obi, on the other, hand knew that he had to meditate before going to bed because he was still feeling upset over going to Naboo again and facing that fact that Qui-Gon had died there. He couldn't let fear and anger into his heart because he knew that they would lead to the Dark Side, and he needed to release his fears and anger into the Force. So for the next few hours, Obi meditated on everything that had happened the first time and the second time on Naboo and released all his fears and anger into the Force.

By the time he was done meditating, it was already morning, and he could see the sunrise outside the window. The sunrise was beautiful on Coruscant, and most mornings he remembered that he and Qui-Gon would watch the sun rise together before he joined the Force. He also remembered that a few times Anakin and he had watched the sunrise. He knew he needed to get up soon and start his day. He walked over to the balcony and watched the sunrise before he went in and started his day. All of a sudden, he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around, thinking it was Anakin, but Ani was nowere to be found. It was a familiar presence, but he decided to let it be and start his day. He checked into the place he wanted them to have the dinner, and he was able to get it. He went and got Ani up so he wouldn't be late for his classes and left.

Rene and Nom were already on the way out of the Temple to go to the market to pick up the stuff they would need to make the dinner when they ran into Obi-Wan coming out of the Temple. He told them that he had found a place for them to have the dinner, and he was on his ay to check it out to see if it was big enough. So Nom and Rene joined him on checking out the place. After they had checked out the place, they went to the marketplace to get the food the needed. When they were all done, they headed back to the temple. Nagoyka Melesse was chasing Kagerou, but they weren't looking were they were going and ran right smack into Obi-Wan and Nom. Obi and Nom landed on their butts on the ground. Rene grabbed Kagerou by the arm, but Nagoyka Melesse got away. She held him while she helped up Nom and Obi off the ground.

"Kagerou, you know you shouldn't be running on Temple grounds - someone could've gotten hurt. Now I want you to apologize to Obi and Nom for knocking them over and making a mess. Afterwards, I want you to pick up the mess you made and take the bags inside and then we'll talk about your punishment later."

"Yes, Rene. I didn't mean to hurt anyone, though. She wouldn't leave me alone. I'm sorry, Nom and Obi, for knocking you guys to the ground - I didn't mean to do it."

Kagerou then started to pick up the mess he made, and Obi could see that he was about to cry and went over to help him out and talk to him. He looked into his eyes and saw a whole different person behind those eyes of his. He thought he was seeing things, but he didn't went to say anything until he found out the truth about what was going on. So he helped Kagerou finish picking up the mess and then took the bags inside.

They went to the Room Behind the Waterfall and most of the senshi were there. Rene told them that they had a place to have the dinner but she need for someone to got and decorate it. Yukiko, Coru, Kairi-chan, and Chouko had volunteered to go and decorate it later. Ani had told them that he would tell Padme where they were having it. While they were doing that, Nom and Rene would prepare the stuff tonight so they could have everything ready to cook in the morning.

Obi-Wan asked Kagerou to walk with him so they could talk, but he didn't went to let the others know what was going on. They went to the gardens to talk.

"Okay, Kagerou, what is going on? When I look into your eyes, I see a whole different person. Why is that? I know I'm not going insane."

Kagerou just stood there, looking shy and not saying anything. He didn't know what to tell Obi, but he didn't went people knowing either especially not his mother. He knew his secret would come out sooner or later, and only one other person knew about it and she wasn't going to tell a soul.

"You can tell me, Kagerou. I'm not going to hurt you. You can trust me."

"Promise you wouldn't tell a soul about my secret, not even my mother?"

"I promise I wouldn't tell a soul, not even your mother. So tell me what's going on."

"The soul you see in my eyes doesn't belong to me. It belongs to my twin brother who died. But my mom doesn't know about him, and neither does anyone else. Well, only one other person does, but she promised not to say anything."

"But how did this happen?"

"I don't know how, and I can't tell you how, but no one can know about it. Promise you won't say a word."

"When I make a promise, Kagerou, I keep it, and I promised I wouldn't tell anyone, and I won't say a word. But we better get back before it gets dark - I don't want to keep you out too late."

They headed back into the Temple in silence. Obi-Wan didn't know what he was going to do, but he knew he couldn't tell anyone about it either until Kagerou was ready to tell people. So he let it be.

The next day, the Queen came to Coruscant in the late afternoon with a few of her guards to protect her. Obi-Wan, Anakin, Annika, and Master Yoda met her at the transport. Most of the cooking was almost done. The decorators were done, and the table was set. Nom, Kagerou, and Rene had started to take some of the food over to the dining hall so they could get started soon. When everything was finally done, they all met in the dining hall for the celebration. Master Yoda was going to do the honor of cutting the turkey after they said grace. They all decided that they were going to go around the table and say what they are thankful, starting with Master Yoda and ending up with the Queen. When they got back to Mater Yoda, he said, "Amen, and may the Force be with us." He then went and carved the turkey. It was the most beautiful celebration they had had on Coruscant in a long time and they hoped to have many more like this in the near future. Master Yoda passed out the turkey, while Nom and Rene passed out the mashed potatoes, stuff, gravity, corn, sweet potatoes, and biscuits. Everyone then dug into dinner after everything was passed out.
