The Wild Wild West

Setting: a desert, somewhere in the old west. It has tumbleweeds, a saloon and everything. Into the saloon...

"Here she is, everybody! We know she's only ten years old, but she's got a great voice! Here's Renako!" cried the announcer, Kendren.

A small, black-haired girl got up on the stage. She wore a long dress adorned with yellow and green sequins and glitter in her hair. She shyly took the microphone and, with music by the band, began to sing. She had the loveliest, sweetest voice the people of the west had ever heard. As she sang, people began to talk...

"Y'know, I heard the Hawkbat is lurking around these parts," Gareth said.

His twin brother, Kalil, nodded. "I heard Tashita telling Ippin, the Sheriff's wife, she saw her. The poor gal nearly passed out. Seein' how she's her sister and all."

"Hey, boys, ya up for a game?" Tejina asked, shuffling some playing cards. She wore a long, frilly dress with a feather boa and feathers in her hair to match. All in red and yellow, of course.

"No, I don't really -" Gareth began.

"I said, are you up for a game?" she repeated, her red eyes hard and glaring.

Gareth gulped. "Yeah, sure, sweetheart," he mumbled quickly.

Kalil laughed. "You have such a soft spot. I never give in that easily."

"Kalil, will ya help me fix my hair?" Tashita called.

He sprang up from his seat. "Sure, anything you say!"

Gareth rolled his eyes and began playing sabacc with Tejina.

"Why do I have to be your assistant?" Kousotsu wondered.

"Because I said so," the Hawkbat said, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "That town'll never know what hit them. The Hawkbat never loses a draw!"

"Sheriff Riku, have ya seen the posters around these parts? They say the Hawkbat's wanted - here! What're ya gonna do?" Deputy Ben asked.

"What I always do," Sheriff Riku answered. "Challenge that no-good criminal to a draw! I always win."

"I hear she's the fastest blaster in the west," Ben said.

"Nobody's faster than me!" Riku declared.

"Yeah, whatever," Ben said. They had gone through three Sheriffs that way.

"Ben! It's our turn!" Yukiko cried. She was wearing an outfit similar to Tejina's, but hers was ice blue.

Ben and Riku went back into the saloon to watch Tejina, Tashita, Yukiko, Kirana, Annika, and Chikako perform. They were pretty good, aside from the fact that Annika fell off the stage twice. Everyone applauded.

Suddenly, the door to the saloon burst open. The Hawkbat herself walked in, followed by her assistant Kousotsu. The spurs on her black boots jangled as she strode into the saloon, heading directly for the bar, where Sheriff Riku and Deputy Ben were sitting. "I hear you're the fastest shot in these parts," she said slowly to Riku.

He nodded. "Ya got that right."

"I challenge you to a duel. Tomorrow at High Noon. The S.M. Corral."

"I'll be there," Riku promised.

Ippin, who had been hiding from her sister, the Hawkbat, sighed. Her husband would probably not make it out of this alive. Her sister always tried to shoot her boyfriends! It just wasn't fair.

"Are you really going to show up, Sheriff?" Arekaderu asked.

"You bet I am! I'll show that Hawkbat girl that I'm the fastest blaster in the West!" Ippin sighed and began to make funeral arrangements.

High noon...

"I knew that wimp wouldn't show up!" the Hawkbat laughed.

Everyone else did, however, to watch. Only they were hiding in the shadows.

"Ya think I wasn't gonna show?" Riku asked, walking up to the Hawkbat.

"Who do you think will win?" Kalil asked. He was taking bets.

"The Hawkbat, definitely," Arekaderu said. Shikuku agreed.

"I hope nobody really dies," Annika said nervously.

"So, are we going to draw or not?" the Hawkbat asked. They took steps backward, pulled out their blasters and fired. Riku fell to the ground as the Hawkbat laughed triumphantly.

"HAWKBAT! YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND AGAIN!" Ippin sobbed, running to Riku.

The Hawkbat twirled her blaster and put it back in its holster.

"Congratulations! You're the new Sheriff!" Kalil said to Ben.

"I'm so happy for you!" Yukiko cried, jumping into his arms and kissing him.

"Wait a minute. Why isn't anyone sad - besides Ippin, anyway - that Riku died?" Kirana asked in confusion.

"He was a wimp," Tejina said. Then she toasted the Hawkbat. "To the Hawkbat, the fastest blaster in the west!"

"TO THE HAWKBAT!"

"Aster!"

"What? Don't call me that, Ippin! I'm the Hawkbat," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Aster!"

"What?"

"ASTER!"

"WHAT?"

"ASTER! WAKE UP NOW OR YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!!!!!!!!" Ippin screamed.

Priire jumped out of bed. "I just had the weirdest dream..."
