Reform of the Evil Sprite

Written by Yousei Akki/Sith Knight Wayland

Akki mentally sighed. Even after all this time, he still could not take over from the Sith who had invaded his body like a slow-killing pathogen. This time he had tried, only to be ruthlessly crushed, not only by Sith Knight Wayland, but by Mistique's powers as well. Only.... you cannot extinguish the Light by increasing the Dark. You only increase the brightness of the Light. One day... one day.

But... if only Her Holy Imperial Highness was here! She'd make short work of Sith Knight Wayland. Akki remembered those days and remembered how she had been. Without her, the Empress Teta system would be fighting, even now. He mused on this as Sith Knight Wayland listened intently to the ancient Holocron. Perhaps, if Akki could somehow convince Sith Knight Wayland that with the Empress, he would have more power... then Akki could slip out of this body and join with her. With his power and memories... she could become the Firstborn, the Kshyy again, She-who-is-unmatched.

Now... to make him think that. Akki began sharpening his skills. He would need them all.

Fon sighed. Basic was a lot harder than it sounded! She know understood why Nom sometimes lapsed into Dathomiri. Fon wanted to lapse into her native tongue. Why would Basic need these "gerund" things or the rigid sentence structure? Sitting next to her, trying to diagram a sentence, was Nom, who was transmitting some nasty Rodian curses through the Force. Fon didn't know Rodian, but she could hazard a guess.

"Nom, I do not believe the young ears around need to be hearing that."

Nom looked around as the tips of her ears turned red. Kairiku, the genius child, was trying to teach them Basic. Fortunately, it was very similar to English, or she would have had trouble.

The moment Nom quit mentally cursing, Kairiku breathed a sigh of relief. Nom, apparently, hadn't realized what she had been doing. She sidled up to Nom and looked over her shoulder.

"No no!! Nom, you don't draw little figures of Sith being electrocuted!! You diagram the sentence, 'Sailor Dathomir drew her blaster and electrocuted the Sith.' " Kairiku picked up the stylus and showed her for the fourth time how to diagram a sentence.

Fon hid a smile. She'd had a better education than Nom had in languages, but she still had trouble with Basic.

Thinking of Basic made her think of Akki, and where he was. He hadn't been around... oh. That was right. He wasn't just Akki anymore. He had been invaded. But when she was with him, she felt better. Sometimes, with the Senshi, she felt as if she had been let loose with no training. She missed her old life with the Imperial Court, but that hadn't been a good life for her. If she had stayed, she would have become as cruel and as heartless as her mother or some of the other Empresses. Although she would never admit it, she needed someone to tell her what to do. Fon sighed and began on the next sentence.

Akki was happier than he'd been nearly an hour ago. The only way to convince Sith Knight Wayland that Fon was needed to make him more powerful was to create a dream.

"Sith Knight Waaayland... Come here, please."

Sith Knight Wayland shook his head. A beautiful voice was calling him... he followed. As he walked up the hill, he noticed large obsidian statues of himself dotting the path. Sith Knight Wayland climbed higher and closer to the voice. He had noticed that the closer he came to the beautiful yet powerful-looking woman, the more detailed the statues came.

"Sith Knight Wayland... look down below you. See the people you hold in thrall? You have the power of life and death over them. But, if I were to do this..." The woman waved a hand languidly. The figures disappeared, to be replaced with desert land.

"NO!"

The woman smiled, a smile that would have had the universe go to war for the privilege to be the recipient of. "Although, if you were to have a certain young woman in your grasp... nobody would ever be able to harm you..." She called the mist (Mist? What mist? Sith Knight Wayland decided that this must be a goddess who had decided to show him favor - only a goddess or god was as powerful as to be able to do something like this), and showed a portrait of a young, perhaps sixteen years old girl. Lavender hair, deep royal purple eyes... Sith Knight Wayland was entranced.

"If I have her, then I will be the undisputed power in this universe?"

"Yesss... Now, do as you have said..."

The beautiful woman faded away... into the mist. Sith Knight Wayland smiled an evil smile... one that would have done Darth Sidious proud.

Fon left the Temple after the Basic lesson. Only after Nom had caused a book to spontaneously combust did Kairiku let them go. Sometimes Fon had to admit that a temper was useful.

Fon pulled her cloak closer. It was getting closer to winter, and although Coruscant was pretty close to climate-controlled, the weather could get nippy. As she walked past, she began to think deeply. She had only gone out because Chakra had come out and noticed that Fon was looking rather peaky. If nobody had told her, she would not have gone. Almost all the Senshi had been independent for a long time and knew what do to. Fon sometimes felt overwhelmed by the CHOICES that some of the Senshi seemed to breeze by. She knew that, although she was a Princess, she would have never been able to do that, much less be able to become someone important, like Priire or Seiyun. She hadn't ever even been alone, for crying out loud! How was she expected to rule the Empress Teta system, much less help save the Universe?!

As Fon walked past, an inky shape followed her. The rushing crowds seemed to part like a stream bubbling past a stone in its path. Semi-Force-sensitive sentients felt something slimy brush past them, and even the Force-blind felt a hint of revulsion as the humanoid figure strode past, the dark-hooded cloak seeming to be physical evidence of the darkness that this creature pledged allegiance to.

Reaching the lavender-haired girl, the dark man - because that is who it was, a human male - reached out and grabbed her arm and turned her around.

Deep inside, Akki winced.

At that moment, Fon nearly came into her power as the Dark Kshyy her mother had wanted her to be. But the flash was fleeting, as she did a double take.

"Yousei Akki?"

Sith Knight Wayland was pleased... somewhat. This... GIRL only recognized the weak person that he had been, not the powerful Sith he was now.

Oh well, he thought.

Deep in Sith Knight Wayland's mind, Akki was about to celebrate.

"Come with me."

Remembering the reverance that Akki had shown her, she went. Deep in her mind, the part of her that had been listening to the tales that some of the more experienced Senshi had told her, knew that this would set something irreversible into play... and it was right. Something had begun... that nobody would be prepared for.

Good. Sith Knight Wayland had the Empress Teta. As long as he thought she would bring him power, she was safe. Even in the alley, so long ago, Akki had realized that Power was the only thing that Sith Knight Wayland wanted. Now... to separate.

Sith Knight Wayland was as pleased as punch. At least, as pleased as a Sith could get. He had the object of much power. That puny little creature in the back of his mind would never be able to do anything now!!

Akki sighed. Perfect! Sith Knight Wayland was SO arrogant; he didn't even notice that Akki was gone from his mind. He dimmed the Spirit light that he had become. He knew how to enter another's mind now... if the Empress didn't forbid him.

Your Holy Imperial Highness. Please allow me to enter your mind... to defeat Sith Knight Wayland, we must join spirits, Akki frantically thought at Fon.

A dim light was near her... Fon blinked her way out of the Force induced coma. It sounded like Akki, but that was impossible. Akki was Sith Knight Wayland.

Your Holy Imperial Highness. Please allow me to enter your mind... to defeat Sith Knight Wayland, we must join spirits.

Yes.

For some reason, Fon had a flicker of a thought: Could I order him not to? Suddenly, she was bathed in a corona of faint rainbow of auras as Akki entered and joined her spirit.

Forgive me, your Imperial Highness. I regret having to take this course, but the only way for Sith Knight Wayland is for you to become the Kshyy... and I alone hold the only untainted memories of how she said for the Reborn Kshyy to do that.

A segment of the memory of a young woman flashed across the Princess' mind: The Mace?

Fon shook her head. Where had that come from?

Akki continued quickly. For you to do that, you must leave this place. If you follow the glow rods, it should take you to the turbolift. You want the Jedi Level.

She nodded to herself and steeled herself. They left quickly.

A few hours later, Sith Knight Wayland had discovered that the girl and Akki were gone. "SPAWN OF THE JEDI!! HOW COULD SHE HAVE ESCAPED... unless Akki helped her! She was a Jedi... therefore I shall go and... 'recover' the girl..." An evil laugh escaped the Dark Knight.

At the Temple, Akki was hurriedly explaining what Fon would need to do.

Moments later, Akki and Fon could no longer communicate. And this time the Force was not interrupted by Chikako.

"Geri! Hold still! If you want to please the Queen, you should obey me!!" Sith Knight Wayland finished adding the last touches. Geri now looked a spitting image of Fon's love, Oriel.

"Now, Geri. You must walk into the Temple and ask that..." He consulted his notes. "Fonce Princcesse come out please."

"What do I get out of it?" Geri was in one of her more sane moods, fortunately.

"Just go in there and do it... or you might just meet the Glaive again."

She started running.

A few moments after Akki realized that Fon could not longer hear what he was saying, Fon walked out of the Temple. A padawan had come to the Room of a Thousand Waterfall, where she had been, and told her that a young man wished to talk to her. Curious, she had gone. Now she wished she hadn't. The young man turned out to be Geri, whom Sith Knight Wayland had just forced to kill herself. Now, Fon knew that the two Insane Sith were evil, but still, to trick someone into killing themselves by twisting an already far-too-twisted mind was cruel and pointless.

"Empress Teta System Power, Make UP!"

A few moments later, several of the Senshi had appeared as the limp body of Geri fell to the ground, lifeless.

"As the Protector of the Empress Teta System, I shall punish you, for I am Sailor Teta!"

"I am Sailor Dathomir, the Protector of Life! I shall harm you for harming others!"

"I am Sailor Asteroid, the Senshi of Redemption! Why'd you kill her?"

"I am Sailor Chibi Dantooine! For Friendship my Sovereign, I shall burn your tail!"

Sith Knight Wayland laughed, an ugly, bone-chilling laugh.

Deep inside of Sailor Teta's mind, Akki broke through the block of Dark Force that had cut off the good, living Force.

Empress! You must become the Kshyy!!

As Sailor Asteroid and Sailor Chibi Dantooine sent their attacks hurtling towards the Sith, Fonce Princesse became the Kshyy, the True Empress of Teta.

At first nothing changed, but as Akki and Sailor Teta focused, the fuku changed, becoming the ancient Royal Imperial robes, belted with burnished titanium. From this belt hung the Space Sword, sheathed yet resplendent with its former glory. A sensible sword, but also evidence of the glory and power of Empress Teta. A simple yet elegant circlet held back the lustrous purple hair. It was also of burnished titanium, yet with tracings of the Tetan language, telling of the life of the Empress.

"Halt! Sith Knight Wayland, you shall not live through this day!"

As the Empress uttered these words, five shadows appeared - four female shadows and one male, to be exact. One carried a bow of nara-stone, strong yet light and supple, reinforced with titanium. In the quiver there were several arrows of fire. The male shadow carried a lethal mace, also of nara-stone. One swing from that would have killed him, yet he handled it with grace and skill. The last three were triplets, who were carrying magnificent swords of plain titanium, with tracings of nara-stone.

Only a few people from the past had held those weapons. These shadows were the Suicide Generals. They had killed themselves with the weapons they were named for when the Empress swallowed poison. Now, they were back. For what, the Senshi didn't know.

With the Suidide Generals, the Empress Teta was able to turn the battle, attacking Sith Knight Wayland with her sword, sending fire and ice, and her Ki attacks. The Generals fought with their weapons as the Senshi combined their attacks to get rid of the youma.

Teta managed to listen to Akki and fight at the same time as he told her how to defeat the Sith Knight Wayland. The only way to defeat him is to drive him out. To drive him out, you must somehow transmit enough to drive him insane. Play games with his mind - that will drive him out.

Very well, Breke.

She began.

In a few moments, the Empress's skill was evident as she watched him writhe on the duracrete, holding his head and moaning. With a sudden twist of her wrist, Teta slit the throat. No blood came out; instead, a reddish dust trickled. All that was left of Sith Knight Wayland had been absorbed by the duracrete of Coruscant.

Suddenly, the Suicide Generals disappeared, as the Empress collasped and powered down into plain Fonce Princesse.

Akki was no longer in her mind.

Carefully looking, Sailor Teta noticed a small ball of light glowing brightly. It was Akki. But she didn't know how to put him back in his body, which was healing the throat faster than the Empress had cut it. Teta fell to her knees, trying to figure out what this moisture coming from her eyes was. She powered down, becoming Fon again. Moments later, a metallic clatter hit her ears. She whirled around, noticing the rest of the Senshi had powered down. Fon suddenly realized that she was looking through what the Earth-born senshi called a "blue ghosty thing." Apparently, they were what some of the Star Wars galaxy-born called Force spirits. The "blue ghosty" had dropped the Annilation Glaive. The "blue ghosty" was Geri. Chouko was beginning to panic, knowing what she had almost done to Pinku.

"Here. You will need this."

The three senshi crowded Fon as she examined the Glaive. On the G-shaped blade, there were two symbols shining. One resembled a plus sign in a circle, and the other one resembled the English letter "M" with an arrow on it.

"These signs are the good and evil signs of Wayland. Every planet or Senshi has the choice to be evil or to be good. Sometimes the person is unaware of this and chooses correctly. Sometimes, the person's choice is made for them," Geri was telling them.

At the mention of the words "choice to be evil or to be good," Nom and Priire winced. They had chosen wrongly in the past.

"And sometimes, even when the person has chosen wrongly, they can be redeemed. You know what must be done."

Fon nodded. She took the sharp blade and sliced her hand to the bone. You could hear the gasps from the others. Fon smeared it over the plus in a circle.

"Nom, hold this." Nom picked up the Glaive apprehensively. She didn't really like it, because every time she looked at it, she had this urge to destroy the universe...

"OW!"

"What happened?"

"IT SHOCKED ME!!!"

Priire held a laugh in. "Nom, it might have something to do with WHO you are. You are the Guardian of Destruction, right? And you once told me that Mortis made a loophole in your powers. I bet the Annilation Glaive is that loophole."

"Most likely..." Nom muttered darkly, vowing to have a talk with Mortis before very much longer.

"Be quiet."

Nom, Priire and Chouko looked at Fon, suprised. Fon rarely ever sounded this authoritian.

While Nom had been complaining about getting shocked, Fon had taken Akki's hand and sliced it to the bone, smearing the blood on the "M" with an arrow on the end.

Within seconds, the Glaive had cracked and become dust in Nom's hands.

The Senshi watched in amazement as the dust began to swirl around the glowing spirit ball. The dust seemed to dissolve the ball, and the dust became luminescent. Chouko smiled happily as the the dust began to chase itself and surround the Senshi. As the dust began to dim slightly, it took a new course. It glooped itself back into a ball sort of shape and smacked Akki's body hard. The force of the impact seemed to spread the goop from the chest upwards and downwards, very similar to the Ripple Effect. It looked as if someone had dropped a pebble into a pool of water, and the ripples spread. As the glowing dust spread, it was aborbed by the body. It began to take on a "glow in the dark" effect.

A few minutes later, the Glaive reappeared. It too glowed, as all four of the Senshi realized that it was now a part of Akki, a part of his soul.

A familar voice came out of nowhere. "Before he can live again, you must realize something. He only will live because the Empress will not care for him. If her destiny changes and she loves him instead of who she is supposed to, he will die. His love for her will never be returned. She may order him to die, and he will do it, still loving only her. This is part of the Tapestry of Fate, and of Life."

Nom muttered something at this. She was the Senshi of Life; she was the expert on it, not Geri.

Geri turned to look at Nom. "Don't even think about. If their destiny changes, the universe will be irreversibly changed. I'm pretty sure that you do not want that."

Floating-walking (How did she move? Her legs didn't move, she didn't levitate. So how? None of the Senshi ever knew - except for Annika's daughter, Ame. But that's another story.), Geri knelt down to face Fon. "You have known him in your youth. You may have even thanked him. You cannot now. To show any affection would be death. He worships you. To show any affection would be to encourage him. To keep this from happening, and to protect you, you must have a Force restriction placed upon you. It will take the combined powers of you and someone else."

The other three Senshi looked at each other. You could almost see the sweatdrops over their heads.

"Come on, Priire! You know you have the most power here!" This from Chouko, who knew that she had the chance of a firegem on Hoth of being the secret-keeper.

"Ha! Maybe if it required flying a ship through the Maw and then fighting the Black Sidhe - no offence, Nom! -"

"None taken."

"- with my eyes closed! But this? Even less chance than a Hothan princess on Tatooine!"

They turned to Nom. The exclamation point over her head could not have been more plainer if it was painted on. "What?! Me? I do not know about this, I am not strong enough to do this!"

"Nom, quit being modest and give her a hand. We all know that you and Xarae are the most powerful. Xarae for her training and life, and you for your breeding and boot camp life and training."

"What do you mean, give her a hand? If one of my hands were cut off to give it to her, I would become ill from blood loss."

"NOM!!!"

She blushed. Chouko didn't usually yell, and Nom didn't usually blush.

"Very well." She sighed. Nom didn't like modifing someone's life like this. It seemed very invasive.

A few minutes later, the Force was blocking or restricting Fon's emotions. Hopefully, she would remain Fon and not become emotionless. Geri's blue ghosty left, but not before issuing one final warning - "Remember the consequence!"

Akki opened his eyes. Four females... no. Three females and the Empress. But somthing was wrong. She was looking at him strangely. He stood up, picking up the Glaive beside him.

"Your Highness... thank you."

Fon freaked. She ran behind Nom and Priire as Chouko tried to calm her down.

"NOOOO!!!!" Breaking down, he ran to the nearest turbolift, keying the lowest level code he could think of.

Akki was on one of the lowest levels. He had had many illict offers, some from beings he didn't even know the name of. Mostly, however, the different beings kept away from the Glaive. It still had the "glowing" effect, even lying by his booted feet. He was in the same uniform that Sith Knight Wayland had disappeared in.

Akki didn't know it, but Geri was watching. She wasn't too happy about this. Just because Sith Knight Wayland had snapped her mind and she killed herself, she had to make sure that Akki lived. Je-wait. Uh oh...

Geri noticed a VERY familar Force aura. "Uh oh... It's that nasty one. Mistique. She's not going to be happy!" She whipped out the henshin item... oddly, it was a silver ring inlaid with Jedite, a Terran type of gem. Huh. Nice ring, she huffed, as it rolled towards Akki.

"Hm? What's this?" Akki wiped his nose on his sleeve, ignoring the trail of slime. He picked up the glint he had noticed through his tear-rimmed eyes. It was a lovely ring, more fit to a female than a male actually, but as Akki was only seventeen, he didn't really care. It was nice, so he would wear it. He put it on his left index finger, as it seemed to be made just for that finger.

A familar spot on the wall began to grow as a blue-skinned leg slid out. "Mistique!!"

"One and the same, Jedi. Now, what have you done with the Sith Knight?!" Sailor Sith Vortex said nastily, brushing nonexistent dust off her fuku.

Okay, Akki! Transform!! Geri thought at him, hoping to get the message across. Either he transformed, or Mistique creamed him. The Senshi would be highly upset if the newest - well, make that newly reformed - Knight Wayland ended up goo on the lowest levels of Coruscant.

Akki was beginning to spazz. What was it that the Shadow Man had said? "I am Sith Knight Wayland... and you are supposed to be Knight Wayland." Something to that effect, anyway. So... okay. If I'm supposed to be Knight Wayland, then I need to transform! But... how?

AURGH!! Geri tried to kick him in the rear. It didn't work. You IDIOT!! It's 'Wayland Planet Transform!'

Akki didn't notice. He'd have to figure this out on his own, then. She was outta here! She'd done her "Faere Godmother" bit! She disappeared. He managed to duck the pointy boot that Vortex aimed at his midsection. Uhm... Let's see... Wayland Planet Power? Nothing happened. He returned a punch. Apparently Vortex was hoping that if she could keep from damaging the body too much, Sith Knight Wayland would be able to come back. Tough luck! I'm here for good!

Eureka! "Wayland Planet Transform!"

A few minutes later, Yousei Akki was Knight Wayland. He looked at himself in dismay. "I've still got this uniform!"

Vortex gave a feral grin. "Saves on laundry!" She sent one of her attacks.

Knight Wayland nearly groaned, but an old image from the first Sith Knight Wayland days came to mind. It was of some of the Sailor Jedi - Teta, Dathomir, Asteroid, Chibi Dantooine.

He roared out his attack. "PAIN OF LOVE TERROR!"

The Glaive swung around on its own as it connected with Vortex's head. She screamed in pain as she teleported out of there.

Knight Wayland collapsed, unconscious as he powered down and became Yousei Akki again.

A few hours later, Akki woke up, half of his face coated with the slimy mixture of blood and ancient duracrete goo.

"Yuk... I wonder how long that stuff's been there?"

He staggered up, leaning against the walls of the alley. He used the Glaive to support himself as he tried to get his bearings. He had to get back to the Jedi Temple. He HAD to get there.

Four days later, Akki staggered out of an ancient stairwell that some vagabond had left up. He could see the spires of the Jedi Temple in the pale dawn sky. He began walking - no, staggering - towards the building. He could barely make a out a female figure.

Priire was tired of the same old decorations in the Room Behind the Waterfall. Too many posters of the boy bands and girl groups... Bespin Boys, N*aboo, Glitterstim Girls, Chritney Jeers, Ristina Gagulara, and that new one... InaForce. The only posters she hadn't used for target practice were Nom's Mind's Eye Blind and Mykyr 95 and her own posters of Matchbox 40. She not only liked Mind's Eye Blind, but she didn't dare shoot Nom's posters. Nom would shred Matchbox 40 and reburn the CD's into Bespin Boys.

Her leftover Hawkbat senses told her that someone was behind her. She whirled on her heel, drawing her blaster.

She noticed a dark figure. Setting it to stun, she shot it.

"Ah, sithspit! It's Akki." She pulled out the comlink and tuned it to Nom's. Nom was the only one she could think of who wouldn't get upset if she woke her up.

A few minutes later, Nom came out in her night clothes and her Blas-Tech 33E blast rifle.

Priire eyed the tank top and short shorts. She'd never seen Nom's legs before. They were knotty and tough-looking, as if she had peeled away any fat layers. Walking around them, she noticed long stripes of shiny tissue going all the way up the shorts and down to her heels. While in back of Nom, she noticed several circles with lightning strikes in each on Nom's spinal bones. They also spread to the tops of her shoulders, and to the tops of her arms, right where the ball and socket joint was.

Priire whistled a low note. "Why don't you wear shorts more often, Nom?"

Nom sighed. "Do you see these scars? I do not care for the universe to see them. Tattoos, fine. They are honourable. The scars are not."

"I'll ask later. Can you help me carry Akki in? I shot him." At Nom's accusing look, she held up her hands. "I didn't mean to!! He's only stunned!!"

"Fine..." Nom's voice barely hid the amusement. She bent down and lifted him up as if he was a baby.

"Hold it right there, Scar Legs!" Vortex appeared, looking put out.

A colorful expletive escaped Nom's mouth.

"Tsk tsk. Didn't your mother tell you never let your enemies see you out of control?" Vortex taunted Nom.

"Out of control? Vortex, she's not even getting mad yet!" Priire warned the Sith.

"Dathomir Crisis Witch Power, Make UP!!"

A nanosecond later, it was followed by "Asteroid Star Force Make, UP!"

Moments later, Vortex noticed Dathomir emerging from her transformation with light green wings. Asteroid had already finished her transformation and was watching.

"I am the one who protects life and justice, the Sailor Jedi who guards the Creative and Destructive powers of the Universe from wrongful use! I am Dathomir, the Child of Gaea and Mortis! I shall destoy and rebuild!"

"I'm Sailor Asteroid, the Senshi of the stars and redemption! And as soon as Birdbrain here gets her feathers out of my face, I'm going to destroy you!"

"I am very sorry, Asteroid. These wings were not my idea, and they are not feathers."

"Ahhh!!"

"Mama? MAMA!!" Chakra had come out and was directly in the path of Vortex's attack.

"CHAKRA!! NOOOOO!"

Dathomir lunged as she barely managed to shove her daughter out of the way.

Moments later, Dathomir lay on the duracrete, a hole smoking in her abdomen as the first pale rays of sunlight shone on the strange scene.

Nom was floating through a time warp, not sure where she was going. She had known she would die, but what would happen to Chakra? Would she die? She wasn't there anymore... what would happen? Would Chakra become mist?

Asteroid looked at the body of Super Sailor Dathomir. "Oh, Dathomir... you always do things the hard way," she whispered. Looking at Vortex, she cried out, "You killed Dathomir!"

Moments later, a clear voice rang out with "Dathomir Planet Power!"

"Starfire -"

"Sacred Light -"

"Surround!"

"Reflection!"

The two attacks went spiraling towards Sailor Sith Vortex.

She managed to open a black hole to absorb the energy.

Still surrounded by tangible time, Nom stopped. "Wha -? I am supposed to be dead and moving on. Let me pass."

A fairly deep and dark male voice spoke. "Forget it, Infans. We are not permitting you to die yet."

"And who are you to decide? I have a choice in this matter - OW!!!"

Nom rubbed her rear. It felt as if some LARGE foot had kicked her.

"GAEA!!! ALL RIGHT! I AM GOING!!"

A fairly dark and deep female voice came out of the time warp. "Glad to see you come to your senses. Now do as we tell you, and you won't be rubbing any psychic bruises."

Nom grumbled something about pushy Guardians as she was slowly pushed back through the time warp.

"I HEARD THAT!!"

Moments later, after Chibi Dathomir had covered her ears and Asteroid had used every colorful metaphor she had learned from the Red Haze, the asteroid miners, and Nom, a very shaky voice came up from the dead body, trying to say, "Guardian Universe Transform!"

Seconds later, a shaky but living Guardian Dathomir threw a black hole under the feet of Vortex.

Immediately powering down, Chakra raced to support her mother. Even with her daughter's help, Nom nearly fell to the duracrete next to Akki.

With the help of Chakra's skill in the Force, Priire managed to throw them both in Nom's forestry room.

Nom and Akki hit the hard, polished wooden floor of Nom's room hard enough to jar Chakra's wall bed into falling down and hitting Akki across the legs.

He whimpered, the bed having jarred him out of his stupor.

"Be quiet... being dead causes great exhaustion." Nom was rather irritable. She had been killed and brought back, and from what Xarae had told her once, that took something out of you.

Akki took one look at Nom and slid his way towards Nom's bed, hoping to get as far from the irate witch as he could.

Nom mentally groaned. Why did Priire have to drop us on the opposite sides of where I sleep?

A few hours later, Nom had managed to kick Akki off her pallet and was taking a nap. Akki was curled up beside her, trying to stay warm. Nom's body was telling her it was Winterday on Dathomir, when winter began, so the climate was cool. She was used to it, but Akki wasn't.

"OW! Cease and desist!"

Akki had kicked her in the shins.

She wasn't going to retaliate - he was sleeping. Sleep was important, especially when Akki was still growing and had gone through mental, physical and emotional hell in the past few days. Nom could sympathize. She fell back asleep.

Fon knocked. Not hearing anything, she opened the door. Having slept on the Eye before, she knew that Nom was dead to the universe when asleep unless someone was willing, and brave enough to throw icy water on the Dathomirian.

The lavender-haired girl walked in, noting that Nom was asleep. She had been asked by Priire to check on Nom, and make sure she wasn't hurt. Gaea and Mortis had only stanched the bleeding and restored life - they hadn't healed the wound.

Pulling Nom's sleep shirt up far enough to check the nasty wound, she carefully cleaned it, hoping Nom would not wake up.

Akki kept his eyes closed, watching as Fon covered the abdomen with a patch of synthflesh. As she was preparing to leave, he reached out his hand, calling softly.

"Your highness? Please, thank you..."

Fon was about to panic. She only knew that to save herself, she must not allow herself emotion around Yousei Akki.

She ran out as Akki's heart finally broke.

Nothing will ever fix this, nothing! If she had only left me -

Nom woke up to hear this part, and interrupted him.

Yousei Akki, be quiet. To leave you would have been no better than a Sith.

Staring at her, not comprehending what she had said, he curled up in a corner, crying.

Nom mentally sighed. MORTIS!! GAEA!! IF THIS IS YOUR IDEA OF ME BECOMING A BETTER PERSON, IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK!

She could imagine excactly what those two's reaction would be.

Moments later, she could feel another body against hers. It was Akki, trying to make sense of this pain and grief.

Two sides were fighting within her. One was the side that still held deeply to the values of Stone River, saying to stop him. How, Nom didn't want to remember. Some memories were too painful. Nom had been the recipient of such practices. The scars on her back and legs were not just from fights. Some had been from Grania. The other side was the side that had been awakened by living as a mother and a friend, saying to comfort him. Nom wasn't too sure how to do that, however.

Oh well. I'll find out.

Akki was worried. He could remember the last time he had met the Dathomirian in her civilian form. But he could feel something different this time. He leaned against her, his seventeen-year-old mind and body collapsing from the strain and overload of experience.

Nom wrapped her arms around the boy, rocking him as she would Chakra, or Neburaa.

A few hours later, Akki was asleep, having worn himself out crying. Nom reached behind her and carefully probed several new bruises. Akki didn't deal too well with emotion.

A soft knock came at the door. Nom opened with the Force, not wanting to wake the white-blond-haired boy.

Fon stepped in, pointing at the sleeping form.

Understanding what Fon wanted to say, Nom shook her head slowly, her unbraided hair puddling on the brown pallet.

She sighed and left.

Not too long ago, he had never been kicked out. He had been the one kicking.

What's wrong? Why did this happen? What has changed? This was the refrain that was running through his mind.

Nom and Priire never got into trouble. Or so he thought...

"Nom! I told you, throw it at the small one! Not the Wookiee!"

Priire and Nom were on Nar Shaadda, supposedly checking on a Sith sighting. So far, no Sith. But several cantina fights had occured. But that was typical of when Nom and Priire were bored. Or Priire was bored and Nom was with her.

Nom ducked the mug of lum thrown her way. Her long hair was unbraided and helped give her a look of innocence. Priire's hair was still braided, yet she looked anything but innocent.

"Sith! LEGGO MY ARM, YOU WALKING CARPET!" Nom picked up one of the chairs and calmly swung it at the Wookiee. The Wookiee went down.

Minutes later, Nom and Priire were calmly throwing both the Wookiee and the Gotal out of the cantina.

"Now, Priire... why did you want me to come with you?"

"Because if there's two, it's more interesting!"

As a soaked Nom and Priire ducked under the waterfall and made it into the Room Behind the Waterfall, Akki raced up to them, stopping right before he hugged them. Nom winced.

"Nom, Priire, can you become my parents?"

Nom sat down abruptly.

"Ow! Could you not have waited?"

Priire added her two credits. "What excactly do you mean, become your parents?"

"Why did you pick us?"

Priire was very confused. Only someone desperate would have chosen Nom and Priire. Although Nom had a child, she sometimes ran herd on the Chibis and kept them in line. According to her, it was as easy as keeping up with smugglers. Priire, however, didn't share the same feelings. Nom sometimes ran herd on her as well.

"Well... you never get kicked out of cantinas! You always know what to do!" Akki was beginning to wail. Catching sight of Nom's expression, he quickly quit his wail.

"Never get kicked out, eh?" Priire began to snicker. Nom looked at the snickering blond, beginning to realize what Priire had in mind.

"NO! Priire, I am NOT taking him with us. N.O.! NOT A CHANCE!" Akki looked at Nom with big eyes, hoping she would.

Nom sighed. "Priire, what have you done to me?"

"You get this boy out of here before I smash his head with this mug!"

Nom picked up her mug of lum and gestured with it. "And if I do not?"

Priire grimaced. Nom might not start fights, but she sure finished them!

The Barabel leered. "You might end up with him, in a bacta tank!"

But before he could even draw his blaster, she had two blasters pointed at him: a Blas Tech 3EE, and a Blas Tech 45B.

"You do not mess with others, for you never know who they are in disguise," Priire spat, her eyes having become mirrors of the deep space she loved.

"For all who come, the Hawkbat and the Mechanic are found." Nom's eyes had also eeriely mirrored the Black Holes that loved her.

Akki was beginning to panic. There was only one thing that could ever put the Bounty Hunter's Guild into a panic: the Hawkbat of the Red Haze and the Mechanic of the Black Sidhe together.

The Barabel growled. "But you are not them!"

Nom and Priire assumed a very familar posture, well known from the holovids of mercs.

Why can't things ever go smoothly?! the Barabel thought frantically, as the two females started a fight.

A few hours later, Ippin walked into the Room Behind the Waterfall to find a very funny scene.

"NOM! PRIIRE! What have you done to Akki?!"

Nom actually looked sheepish. "Uhm... uh... I am sorry?"

"NOM!!!! PRIIRE!!! YOU WILL CEASE THIS AT ONCE!"

Priire and Nom pulled a fast one and escaped the Wrath of Ippin. Unfortuanately, Akki wasn't so lucky.

She turned on him. "And you! Allowing them to drag you into a Cantina fight! You should be sent to the Evil Earth Nightmare Dimension. All of you should."

Akki looked at his feet. "Um... can you not do that?"

Ippin sighed. It wasn't his fault. Perhaps Nom should take care of him. She began to snicker. That would teach her to keep young inexperienced people out of cantinas!

"Let's go get you cleaned up."

A few days after Akki's first cantina fight, Nom agreed to watch over him. It didn't help that Ippin had threatened her with Chibi Chibi Nom.

Of course, Priire had to stick her nose in one day when Nom was cooking. "Hey, Nom! What are you cooking?"

Nom wrinkled her nose. Priire was fond of eating. She stirred the bowl as she waved the blonde in the kitchen.

"Hm... I found this in here. I believe it was left by a Chibi." She held up the slip of flimsi.

Priire's eyes widened as she read the slip.

"This is Corellian Ryshcate! I love this stuff!"

Nom hid a smile. She had had Akki running errands all around Coruscant for the Corellian whiskey and wveliu nuts. That was some hard stuff to find.

While Nom was finishing the ryshcate, Priire sat on the countertop and talked of things only Nom would have understood.

Nom had been an adult when she had become a smuggler and a merc, but she had become one before Priire was even born. Priire had only been nine, and was one for nearly five years, compared to Nom's thirty or forty.

"Nom?"

"Yes?"

"Did it get easier and easier to pull the trigger? Until you never thought about it?"

Nom thought a second. Only Priire could have asked that without Nom getting upset.

"It did. Only a few years ago, I would look at the person and think,'Shoot.' It took very little time."

Priire spoke softly. "Do you ever find that you have to keep from falling into it? That if you don't watch, you shoot without thought?"

"Do you?"

Priire thought. "Yes."

"Priire, you will never be free from what you once were. It will always stain you, but it is possible to put it behind you."

"Do you remember every face? Every person?"

Nom pulled out a stool. She still had dreams about some of the people. "People offered money, spice, slaves, everything to escape the death. We would raid, and often the Sidhe would go back and you could see the devastation. Parents mourning children, children wandering around dazed, crying for their parents."

She took a deep breath. "I remember all of them. Even the look on the face of my twin when Grania killed her. The Nightsister that was the signal of the beginning. I will never forget."

Priire sighed. It was burned into the side of her brain, and neither would ever forget it. "What about nightmares?"

Nom snorted. "Every smuggler gets nightmares. Everyone. I do, you do, we all did. Some still do. You, for instance."

Priire's eyebrow rose.

"Do not try to hide it. Not all of us are as innocent as you would be led to believe. Your sister noticed it. I have noticed it."

"But they stopped. Until I became Sailor Asteroid, anyway. But they've come back."

"Back?" Nom queried.

"It's of faceless people being killed in various ways, and it's not too bad until I realize, they're faceless! Just like... faceless, or practice dummies."

Nom leaned over. "We all have had nightmares."

"You?"

Nom sighed. "Even I have nightmares. Every night, I relive the past. Nobody is ever free of it."

An hour later, both Nom and Priire had agreed to "train" Akki. Of course, Kyoko wasn't too happy, and neither was Ippin. But then, Ippin was never happy when Priire and Nom teamed up.

Nom knew that she would be very busy from now on. She would be taking care of three children: Priire, Chakra and Akki.

A few weeks after Nom and Priire's agreement, all four of them went to the Botanical Skydome Gardens. It wasn't everyday that Chakra could convince her mother that the Gardens were educational.

But... today they would be far more educational for Akki than for Chakra.

The foursome was walking along, Nom keeping Priire from shooting anything, Priire keeping Chakra from running off, and Chakra keeping Akki from running into others.

But he did run into someone.

"Well, well, well. Now what have we here? A child, a boy, a girl and a witch. Now... who do I take out first?"

Nom was the first to transform, followed quickly by Chakra. "Dathomir Crisis Witch Power Make Up!"

"Dathomir Planet Power Make Up!"

Priire looked at Akki. "Let's henshin!"

"Asteroid Star Force Makeup!"

"Wayland Planet Transform!"

"Oh how nice. A family outing. Yo, birdbrain!"

Super Sailor Dathomir stared at the Sith, her sword drawn. "Sword of Justice Cleave!"

Asteroid, Chibi Dathoir and Wayland leapt into the stinging nettle exhibit as the sword came after the entire group.

"Hey! You cut my hair! That stuff doesn't grow back you know!"

Wayland looked at Vortex. "Shut up!"

"AHH!! Grr... BLACK HOLE ENGULF!"

The black hole hurtled towards the young man, but suddenly, three bodies flung themselves in front of it.

Knight Wayland stared at the lifeless bodies in front of him. "You killed them. Why?"

Vortex merely smiled nastily. "Cause that's what I do."

Wayland could feel the sadness and grief of this unforeseen occurence bubble up as a certain voice came into his head, whispering, "Maw Pain Rememberance."

He repeated the words, not knowing what would happen.

It suprised him, to say the least.

A single sphere of energy floated out of his chest, growing in size and intensity. The dark ball began to float, as suddenly Wayland's Glaive appeared, taking control of his body. It swung, forcing the ball to connect with Vortex, as she realized a split second too late what was going on.

"NOOO!" She disappeared as Wayland powered down and collapsed as Akki next to the bodies.

"Please..." he whispered to no one.

Three tears fell from his nose, dropping onto the bodies.

Each one glowed, pulsing with the life of the Force.

As they entered the three senshi, Akki had a revelation hit him from Nom's mind.

Fon could not love him, because he would die.

Geri appeared. "This is the last time I'm doing this gig. Listen up, waterworks. You tell her that you know, and she's gonna feel her honor's been busted or something. So keep your pie hole shut." Then she disappeared, returning to the way of life before her death.

Nom sat up, noticing the heartbroken boy.

"Akki... what is wrong?"

He didn't say. He knew better.

Only one thing could ever repair this for the young man, and it would never occur.
